  1. Just received this reply concerning the Priority Club affinity card. I won't get points, as expected, but will get some amenities. "Thank you for your inquiry for your Priority Club
  2. Mory, thanks for the great follow up! It is posts like yours that makes this BB work. I'll be transiting LAX in early April and will use this hotel for the layovers. :)
  3. FYI- Do call the hotel directly and make a request for bedding, smoking preference, etc to be put in the record. I like Baymont Inns. MOst are clean and simple with a nice buffet breakfast. Enjoy. Oh, what was your bidding strategy? :)
  4. First of all, welcome to BB! Go back to the Charleston, SC hotel page on Priceline and check each area/zone separately for star ratings. You should see that there are 8 other zones, besides the Downtown Charleston zone in the city, that do not have a 4* hotel listing. Wow! There are tons of bidding combinations. I think you will have better luck finding a 3* hotel like DoubleTree or Embassy Suites. Also, take a look at maps on yahoo.com (maps.yahoo.com) for what hotel are in the downtown area. Remember to select hotels under Travel & Transportation. Please keep us posted on how things shake out! Anyone else want to help out here and fill in the blanks. :)
  5. This is super to see that someone is get the Venetian for $99/nite this far in advance! Yes, I agree! So for bidding now to test the waters! Billyblaze, your bidding suggestion is the way to go! :)
  6. Welcome to BB, f/w68! I don't believe there are any special events in Vegas during your stay. Having said that you should be able to get the Venetian on the cheap a week to 10 days before arrival for $79-$99. Also remember, there are no real guarantees with Priceline. But that is the fun and adventure in bidding on Priceline. I have saved between 40-60%/nite off the best internet rate for my family and friends each time I have made bids. Good luck and keep us posted on how things turn out! :)
  7. Glad to see you back, Dirk! Enjoy your stay but know that if you want to use this Hyatt's FREE Wi-Fi that it is glitchy and only works in some rooms facing the Atrium. And Dial-up is poor. :)
  8. Stan, glad you asked. Make sure you wait the full 72 hrs, clear the cache and cookies and try again. Follow my lead from previous posts & you will hit it right on the mark, if Spring Break does not interfere. Here's my latest post for Brunswick: "Just got this for some dear friends. Congratulations, you got your price of $25 for a 2-star hotel room. Ramada Inn Brunswick Check-In Date: Friday, February 13, 2004 Check-Out Date: Monday, February 16, 2004 3040 Scarlett Street Brunswick, Georgia 31520 912-264-3621 Your Offer Price: $25.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $75.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $15.32 Total Charges: $90.32 They have stayed there before and said it is rated as one of the best Ramadas going. Their Ramada Club membership worked before that got them a hot b'fast and cocktails in the evening."
  9. A friend got this and wanted me to post for him. I am shocked that Priceline rates this Fairfield Inn as a 1*. In the past, I found Fairfield Inns rated 2* by PL. :) Congratulations, you got your price of $24 for a 1-star hotel room. Fairfield Inn Atlanta Airport Check-In Date: Friday, March 19, 2004 Check-Out Date: Sunday, March 21, 2004 Hartsfield Airport (ATL) 2451 Old National Parkway College Park, Georgia 30349 404-761-8371 Your Offer Price: $24.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $48.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.94 Total Charges: $60.94
  10. A friend landed this deal and asked me to post it for her. Congratulations, you got your price of $24 for a 2-star hotel room. 11. Mory, please let us know what you think of this hotel and the area it is in after your stay. :)
  12. WillTravel! Thanks for the compliment! You bring up a most interesting question. Yes, Thailand hotels are a steal. I even booked the hotel in Chiang Mai thru PL/HK (Octupus Travel) and got the 3* Lotus Pang for $24/nite! Traveling thru Thailand is so cheap! I was assigned there years ago and going back was a thrill. Gold shopping is a must! You got to go! Most places in SE Asia are a steal right now! I for one am guilt of booking certain cities because of the inexpensive PL hotel rooms I can get. I have tons of Frequent Flyer miles and go to LA & SF often. Got a trip to LV planned for a family reunion and looking forward to great rooms at great prices! In fact, my entire family is looking to me to make the room reservations on PL! :)
  13. A friend got this hotel for 2 separate nites (1 Apr & 9 Apr) at the same $27 prices. Congratulations, you got your price of $27 for a 2
  14. You are so right, WillTravel! It is a win/win for both the hotel and me! When I can get one of the finest 5 Star hotels in Asia (Shangri-La) for $59/nite I am a winner! :)
  15. I am curious as to why so many of us posters keep saying when we post rooms that we have won or were awarded a room on PL/Hotwire since we aren't in competition with other folks. I see it as a negotiated agreement. I made an offer and it was accepted. I did not win nor was I awarded anything. How do other posters feel about this issue? Thanks :)
  16. That is too bad because Priceline presently has that Holiday Inn Select a 2.5* hotel and $68 is a bit too high for such a hotel! Just checked the Holiday Inn website and a room for 4 Dec 04 is listed for only $88. Sorry! :)
  17. Got this for friends! Radisson Windsor, Ontario Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Price Per Room, Per Night: $35.00 Subtotal: $140.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $16.54 Total Charges: $156.54 :)
  18. Got this for friends! Congratulations, you got your price of $28 for a 2-star hotel room. Fairfield Inn Valdosta Check-In Date: Friday, February 6, 2004 Check-Out Date: Sunday, February 8, 2004 1311 St Augustine Road Valdosta, Georgia 31601 Your Offer Price: $28.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $56.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.07 Total Charges: $69.07 :)
  19. At LAX right now (a week earlier than planned) and took the Quality Hotel shuttle over to take a look at the rooms. The rooms are CLEAN standard 2.5* rooms. What is great about this location is that there are tons of places around there to eat. Also took a run over to the 3* LAX Hilton to look at their rooms. Rooms there were nice and clean and a bit bigger than the 2.5* Quality Hotel. :)
  20. ThereUAre, what part of Charlotte will you be in? Right off the top of my head I'd recommend the Crazy Buffet Restaurant. My family can't get enough of this place!! Will send ya info on it in an email. I said in Japanese, What is the meaning of my bellybutton ?:)
  21. Ohayou gozaimasu to all! Steve, I went to graduate school at UNCC and know lots about Charlotte--The Queen City! :)
  22. Congrats T-Weldon! Sometimes upgrades can't be avoided on PL. Damn the bad luck. If you haven't already done so, join the Holiday Inn Priority Club and show it when you check in. Perhaps it will get you some amenities! There are always a possibility. :)
  23. 9:57 a.m. Thursday here in Okinawa Japan! :)
