  6. I am seeing what looks to be Disney's Coronado Springs for $169/nite for your dates... would this be of interest (or are you only looking at 4 star and higher rated hotels)?
  7. I was trying to get a WDW property, preferably around the Epcot area. The dolphin swan prices worked out the same as the government price i already have. Wishful thinking! After further searching i realized the resort fee attached was a dead giveaway it was not a Disney property.
  8. Welcome to BetterBidding! Interesting that i don't see this property on my own search (did you search on a desktop or mobile?) but i'm fairly confident that it is not the Yacht Club... i'm leaning towards this likely being the Walt Disney World Dolphin, but i would want to do some additional research before having you commit, if this property is of any interest (i won't be able to research further until later this evening). Is the Dolphin something you would be interested in for this trip at this price... or what requirements do you have for this stay? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

  12. Hey all, I was able to get the Four Points by Sheraton $61 + an additional 10% off for a total of $71.87with taxes/fees by using the link on this great website for thiscoming Sunday. This price is cheaper than the regular rate without tax of $79 at other websites. Below is a list of the amenities supplied by Priceline. Casino Restaurant Fitness Center Handicapped Rooms/Facilities I am pleased to get this hotel at this rate, as they were building this property when I was in Deadwood last year at this time.
  13. Thanks for the report! Glad to see you found something that works for your plans and that your rate research paid off! Do keep in mind (if you weren't aware) that most of our exclusive monthly Priceline Coupon are valid on retail hotels too! As long as the rate is one that you pay PRICELINE (and not 'Pay at Hotel') then our coupon should work... even on refundable rates! Have a great trip and good luck with the Turo rental.
  14. So I did both Priceline and Hotwire Searches for my dates and wasn't seeing anything I wanted for under $100 a night. Since I was just traveling by myself, I have had previous good experiences at the Comfort Inn & Suites and checked their direct rates on the Choice Privilege's site which included a 30% discount for longer stays and I felt that price was the best value and also close to where I wanted to be in Central Omaha. FYI the 30% discount also is shown all priceline although the overall price is slightly more than if booked directly. Comfort Inn & Suites 7007 Grover St. Room Type:2 Queen Beds, No Smoking Number of Rooms:1 Number of Occupants:1 Daily Rates:Sep 22, 2021 for 2 nights at $59.84 (per night) Sep 24, 2021 for 2 nights at $81.47 (per night) Sep 26, 2021 for 2 nights at $56.52 (per night) Estimated Tax and Other Charges:$71.85 Estimated Total:$467.51 Also will be trying out Turo for the first time on this trip for my car rental since rental rates are still very pricy relative to what they have been in the past. I will look forward to that experience as well.

  16. Hi... It's been a while since I've posted. I know I'm supposed to supply a longer list of amenities, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to get the longer list. I used the bidding helper quick quote and filter for 4* and La Jolla - UCSD. I got two results for one room on Sept 18-20. Hotel #1 $199/night Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Restaurant Fitness Center Pets Allowed Handicapped Rooms/Facilities No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Hotel #2 $219/night Indoor or Outdoor Pool Restaurant Fitness Center Handicapped Rooms/Facilities No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Thanks in advance for the help! EDIT: Wrong forum... sorry, should have been Price Line. Can I delete post?

  20. I am arriving late. Thank you for your help! I went with the Four Points by Sheraton. Have a great day!
  21. Hi, Are you arriving very late/extremely early that you mention a 24 hour shuttle? I have taken the T from Boston Logan to Downtown which was fairly easy and inexpensive (it's a bus that rides in an underground tunnel vs. an actual train) but the T stops running somewhat early... somewhere around midnight, maybe later on weekends, not sure if the schedule has changed or not with ridership being down. Some thoughts: On HOTWIRE i'm also seeing the Doubletree Boston Logan Airport Chelsea, although i have no idea about the hours of their shuttle service (again, keeping in mind your comment above regarding needing a 24 hour shuttle) Are you using BiddingHelper.com? The 4 star for $167 is indicated to be the Hyatt and the 3 star for $150 the Four Points. .... we have also added a new tab ('1 of 3 Guarantee') at BiddingHelper which assists with PriceBreaker hotels. Let us know what you decide or how we can be of further help.
  22. Hello my friends! I am looking at staying in Boston on October 22 for one night. I have been looking at your forum and at reveal hotels. I need a 24 hour airport shuttle or a rate so great that I don't worry about transportation. (I m thinking the shuttle is safer) On Hotwire... it looks like the Hampton Inn BOS Logan Airport, at 149 a night, is the best. On Priceline, I am not positive. The express deal of 167 for a 4 star could be great if it is the airport Hilton or Hyatt. The three star for 150 in Logan Chelsea may be ok. Some of the pricebreakers may be good too! I am pretty torn because I will only be at the property for a quick sleep and then be gone. So, it has to be clean, clean, shuttle, safe area, clean, and a great price! I am leaning towards the Hampton Inn... what do you think? Thanks! I hope you are having a great day!
  23. Thanks for maintaining the board Thereuare and for your prompt response. Not sure about the Motel 6 comparison through, I consider this board much higher quality than that motel chain. 😄😄😄. I almost never plan 6 months out, 90 days out at the max just because I think the rates dip seasonally depending on demand and coming from an Airline background, I am fairly savvy that the reservation systems generally start playing with prices around that time frame. I'll be watching the Monday, Tuesday pricing then and hoping the rental market dips a bit since that seems to be the one where prices are off-kilter the most. Living in San Diego I heard of $300 a day car rentals during peak summer, but September after Labor day the demand is going to be soft so prices should reflect that. I will post what happens in the appropriate forum.
  24. Welcome Back! (just like Motel 6... we 'kept the light on for you' ) Your question above is an age old question that unfortunately doesn't have any firm answer, but i'll give my thoughts and the process that i use... Research Rates for the Area - as soon as you are even thinking about a trip, begin to look at rates. Check for your specific travel dates, dates before, dates after, midweek, weekend, etc. This often gives you a very good understanding of what the low end of the range should be, as well as what is considered to be 'expensive'. Be Realistic - Consider seasonality factors and any special events taking place. For example, if you're traveling to Las Vegas during the Consumer Electronics Show (the largest convention of the year) don't expect to find anything near the low-end of the range you found above.... same goes for locations with baseball Spring Training, College Football Saturdays / NFL Sundays home games, etc, etc. Book a Refundable Rate - no matter how far in advance your stay is book something that is fully refundable: it can't hurt... and it could help! You never know if your search today is going to be the cheapest you see things, as well, this gives you a firm baseline of what is that you're trying to beat. This refundable rate must be a property that you're willing to stay at for the price; a backup reservation for a 5 star hotel for $400/nite is not good if you're not willing to spend that much for a hotel... nor is the 1 star hotel for $40 if you're not willing to stay at a 1 star property. As most sites show the least expensive rate (which is typically NON-refundable) and it requires a few clicks to drill down to the refundable rate you're looking for, we have created RefundableRates.com which makes it easy to find your best deal on a refundable basis. And a reminder that we almost always have a 5% off Priceline Coupon that can be applied to refundable rates (pre-paid does not mean non-refundable... it just has to be a hotel that you pay Priceline at the time of booking, not a 'pay at hotel' booking) Monitor / Check Rates Often - if your trip is 6+ months away check rates 1-3 times per week (both refundable to 'better' your reservation from above as well as non-refundable to see if something has appeared that is worth committing to). As your trip gets closer begin to check more frequently. If/when a great deal appears BOOK IT! The best deals often don't last very long so always be ready to act (assuming your plans are firm)... 'marginal deals' you may have a few hours/days to think about it, but if you see a truly great deal don't second guess yourself and act upon it. Don't miss out on $50 savings because you're hoping it drops another $5. DON'T Recommend Waiting Until the Last Minute - I have never been a fan of waiting until the very last minute to book (and for this discussion i'll define 'last minute' as 1-2 days before arrival). While a hotel guest is typically focused on one hotel stay for one specific set of dates, the hotel revenue manager is focusing on rates for the entire year, and generally speaking there is not much a hotel can do to effect last-minute hotel demand. Take a hotel that typically sells for $200/nite and the day before arrival they lower their rate to $100/nite,.. usually there are not that many people who can suddenly pick-up and go on one days notice in order to take advantage of this new lower rate. As well, by doing so the hotel has cut their rates in half for walk-in customers who show up at the hotel without a reservation (and it's easy to charge these customers the highest prices since most will not sit in the lobby trying to research other hotels in the area for a better rate... they're typically tired from driving and just want to check-in and get to their room). It's also better for hotels to have advance reservations as it's easier for them to manage prices and inventory, they don't want to 'reward' (and train) guests to wait for the last minute. While the above may seem like a lot of time/effort, it's really not if you use tools to make it easier. We have added a RefundableRates tab to our BiddingHelper.com site which allows you to accomplish all of the above tasks with just one search... just flip between the various tabs to see and compare retail, opaque, and refundable rates. Some additional timely comments given the current environment: The covid pandemic has created unprecedented times... especially for travel. I expect hotel rates to continue to be more volatile than usual based upon covid outbreaks and changes in local regulations (lock downs, mask policies, use of vaccination passports, etc, etc). As of this writing the delta variant is on the upswing for the last month or so and (from the areas i have been following) i have already seen hotel rates drop for the months ahead; i would expect to see this reverse (and rates raise) once we begin to see new cases trend downward. There is a LOT of pent-up demand and rates may spike quickly once the general population feels that we are 'out of the woods'. Lastly, many hotels are operating at limited capacity. Some have blocked off entire floors of their property, while others have required 24-48 hours between guests, etc. so from a pricing perspective you have to consider these rooms 'sold' and effecting demand to the upside. As a simple example, a 4 story hotel that has 100 hotel rooms but has blocked the entire 4th floor of the property... this hotel is considered 25% occupied before selling even one hotel room. From a more macro perspective, if the entire area has 1000 hotel rooms and 25% of the hotels go offline, there are now only 750 hotel rooms available in the area. Hotelier looking at supply/demand view this as lower supply which often equates to higher prices.
  25. Hi everyone. Seems like forever since I visited this board and I miss traveling and all the good advice I got here. I am traveling late September to Omaha for a personal trip and seeing that Prices for Hotels are approx $100 for 3* Hilton Brands and $79 for Auto Rentals (per day). If anyone has been traveling domestically this year, is it better to wait till the last minute? I very much doubt that inventory is that low that prices would go up especially since there is little if any Conference/Business travel compared with Pre-Covid. I am not asking this question specific to Omaha, which is why I put the question here. Is 3 weeks before still a sweet spot for prices or has that changed? If you are booking a car rental or hotel accommodation when would you be finalizing your reservations? Thanks in Advance!
  26. Congratulations on your success! Hope you're pleased with the outcome and this hotel will work well for your plans this trip. Thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us add this property to the Priceline Express Hotel List for Canada. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.

  28. Just wanted to add since I didn’t see it specifically stated that even the % coupons from Hotwire are usually capped at $50
  29. Yes, Priceline does still offer Express Deals on Rental Cars... you can try this Priceline Express Car Rentals link. (for example, using this link i searched Las Vegas, NV for 9/26-9/29 and you can see there are many Rental Car Express Deals offered) However, given such high demand for rental cars in many cities, you may not see many (or any) Express Deals in some locations. Have you also had a look at HOTWIRE? What location and dates are you looking for? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
