HW 3.5* DoubleTree Club Orlando/Lake Buena Vista is re-named to Orlando vista

The now graded 3* Orlando Vista is allready at the list but the DoubleTree Club appears "still active" on the list. It's the same hotel.

Two things I found that not got changed in my previous post.

1. PL 2.5* Doubletree Club (DWV) is re-named to Orlando vista

2. HW 3* "Holiday Inn Universal" on the board list is the same hotel as the 2.5* Orlando Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Universal on the list.

Henrik.

New changes for Florida.

Orlando.

PL *Resort* Renaissance Resort (SW/US) now show 4* (PL VP 5/14-5/17)

I think this downgrade is temporary due to the ongoing construction. So the Peabody is not "alone" anymore in the 4*

PL 4* Grand Bohemian (Downtown) is now rated 3*, so the 4* zone in Orlando/Downtown zone is gone.

PL 3* International Plaza Resort and Spa (US/SW) now shows 2.5*

PL 3* Grosvenor now shows 2* (DWV) (PL VP 5/14-5/17)

PL 3* Holiday Inn Express (MCO) now shows 2.5* (PL VP 5/14-5/17)

PL 2.5* La Quinta (Winter Park) now shows 2* PL VP 5/14-5/17)

PL 2.5* Radisson Barcelo/Barcelo Orlando (SW/US) is now called Orlando Metropolitan Resort

PL 2* Homestead suite (Airport (TPA) and Westshore)now shows 1*

PL 3* Radisson (St. Petersburg - Clearwater (Clearwater)) now shows 2* (VP 4/24-26)

HW Fort Lauderdale, got a new sub zone called "Lauderdale-By-The Sea" It's 3-4 miles north of the Fort Lauderdale beach area on A1A. Mostley mom and pops and lower rating places in that zone. It's a nice and quiet area.

FYI - Burbank Hilton Name/Chain Change To Marriott

"As reported in the December 15, 2006, Burbank Leader, the Hilton Burbank Airport and Convention Center has changed ownership and has become affiliated with the Marriott hotel chain. The new name of the hotel is the Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel and Convention Center."

Google searches will bring up this hotel under both chain names. Note that there is also a Courtyard By Marriott about 2 miles away. Marriott searches will sometimes bring up one and not the other.

Check the address: 2500 Hollywood Way, Burbank, CA 91505-1019

Searching HOTWIRE, 5/19-5/20 in AUSTIN, all zones...

Getting:

3.5* South Austin - Airport Area -- $94

Amenities: Shuttle, fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Hi-Speed Internet

BEST VALUE

Looks strikingly similar to the Hilton as listed on this site, except it's shown here as 3*

Any thoughts? Will let you know if I decide to go for it, but will probably play the Priceline game first...

Also:

3* South Austin - Airport Area -- $91

Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Kitchenette, Tennis, Business, Laundry

Appears to be the Hawthorn Suites...

The former Seattle Summerfield Suites name change to Pike Place Suites has already been reported. However, it wasn't known if the property still participates with Hotwire. Looking at the Hotwire vacation packages, I see the following for Pike Places Suites:

3*

Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access

I think this is pretty similar to before.

the 3* Somerset-Brunswick (Somerset-Piscataway-South Plainfield) Marriott is now the 3*Somerset Plaza At Garden State Expo Center. I wonder what will happen to the concierge level with the smoked salmon and bagels for breakfast?

Priceline used to have a category for Paris that was above the standard 4*, but not called 5* (I can't remember the exact name). However, it appears that Priceline now offers bidding at 2*, 3*, and 4* levels only, and no longer includes that extra level above. So hotels like Hotel Scribe and the Intercontinental Grand that used to be in this category would presumably be encompassed in the "regular" 4* bidding now.

Priceline used to call the category simply 'Four* plus' That is interesting that they eliminated it and do not have a 5* category since Paris certainly has many high quality hotels.
