actraveler Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 I want to thank the board members for your postings.I have been visiting London for years as an airline employee, and I used to get phenomenal discounts. With BetterBidding.com, I get better deals than that!!I've passed this hotel many times on the 13 bus on the way to Leicester Square for theatre tickets and the location is very good.I bid $55 on the first bid as it was accepted for similar dates by another poster, and it was accepted on the first offer. The real question is- What is the floor rate that this hotel accepts through priceline? Many years ago, the board had the FLL Airport Sheraton at $49, and it was a nice hotel so I used it for my commuting until the girl at the front desk was overheard telling a colleague that thier bottom line Priceline price was $32! Posted it and never paid $49 again.Anyway, THANKS BETTER BIDDING!!! Hal

davidUK Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Hi,I am 99% sure that their bottom line Priceline rate is 35 GBP incl 17.5% tax, i.e. GBP 29.79. Converted into US$ at a rate of 1.765, that is $52.58.My offer of $52 was not accepted, but $53 went through. Read my post here: http://p070.ezboard.com/fpricelineandexped...icID=1753.topic
WillTravel Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Hi DavidUK, that's a great rate. Could you post a new thread with your winning bid? Thanks.
traveling4fun Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 I just won this hotel too for $53. Thanks for the strategy.
pirate Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 David,I'm not sure your estimate is 100%. I am looking for a central London hotel for December 27th to 30th, usually a dead zone between Christmas and New Year. Bidding on Priceline UK and using a variety of combinations I have bid Bloomsbury 4* at
Blueskies Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Likewise I have been helping a relative bid and she has bid up to
traveling4fun Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 I should clarify that my $53/night Thistle Marble Arch win is in late March. We are going to London in December and the best deal I could find on Priceline was $89/night at the Thistle Charing Cross. I tried for three weeks to get the $57/night deal at the Thistle Marble Arch in December and was rejected every time.
Blueskies Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Just reporting that my relative bid last minute and got Thistle Marble Arch for
