  1. Rates are date dependent, so a property could go for $140 one day and $240 the next. It's all calculated on the hotel's expected capacity. Also, a number of properties in MTE are fairly close to the MTW area, and are sometimes cheaper than its counterparts in MTW. So which areas do you want to try? MTW? MTS? UM-CPS? MTE?
  2. How long do you plan on staying there? Is this a week-long, month-long, or entire summer trip? What dates do you want to travel? What's your budget? (playing with Travelocity"]Travelocity's flexible date feature, I found May 3-16 DEN-BKK for $858 incl. taxes)
  3. Another question: What do you plan on doing if you are unsuccessful at $180? (as you didn't have any success at $215)
  4. You'll want to understand how to rebid on priceline, as your method above isn't the best. Read this thread to learn how to find the 2 free rebid areas in NYC that don't have any 4* properties. Once you've found them by following the directions, please post their names. Also, would you be willing to split your bid into a 3 night stay and a 2 night stay? One of our recommended hotels (the Beekman Tower) is available for your first 3 nights around $188 through Easyclicktravel.
  5. Dates? Number passengers? Maximum $ (use the airfare checker to find the lowest price)? Are you flexible (i.e. EWR/LGA)?
  6. Using post #25, change the number 3* to 4* and there's our recommended bidding strategy. You added Downtown and Copley as your last bids, which gives you a fairly good chance of overbidding on those two areas and reduces the number of rebids you have. If $95 is still your max, try the method in post #25 for the 4* level. If you want $105 to be your max, add $10 to all of the suggested amounts in #25.
  7. Welcome! As this is a seperate stay, this belongs in a new thread so other users can find it. :) (bump me thereuare)
  8. That isn't much help, as the 4* level has been won around $46 in the past.
  9. If you don't follow what we provide, why should we spend more time providing a strategy that ultimately won't be followed? If you want to do it your way again, start around $90 and work your way up. If you want us to provide you with a strategy, and you will actually follow it, please follow up requesting one.
  10. Since you've bid up to $70, and you are considering the 3* level, you may want to try this the next time around: Select 3* Downtown... Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $65, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2... Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $75. Select 3* Copley... Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $65, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Copley and re-bid zone2... Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $75. Select 3* Downtown and Copley... Bid $79, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $84, if rejected add re-bid zone2... Bid $89
  11. Skip it. It's located directly over a highway and unless you have a car, the only public transportation that I'm aware of is the bus - not the T subway.
  12. In some hotels, it's not a big stretch to expect them. Currently available for $188/night is a 1 Bedroom suite at the Beekman Tower. Reviews are good for this property. You'd have to prepay for the reservation, but it is refundable up to 72 hours prior to the check-in date.
  13. Another quick update: I doubt the 3* in Cambridge is the Hyatt. The problem with lower star properties in the "cambridge" area is that it includes some near Soldiers Field Road in Boston (shown on the HW map north of I-90 & south of the Charles river) which lacks subway service. There is a 3* Customer Favorite in Boston Common/Theater for $104 (Restaurant, Fitness, High-speed Internet, Business). You could try priceline to hopefully save another $10-25/night (if not more). Being in this area gives you good access to the subway and other tourist areas. If you want to try for this on priceline, let us know.
  14. So was it $90 or $95? You tried up to $95, show accepted at $95, and list "Marriott Copley Place $90.00 -Cost"
  15. Welcome! The 2.5* level isn't bid on or purchased frequently for this area in Boston. At first glance, I'd assume the hotel is located near the medical center in the Southeast corner of the Back Bay area. These hotels usually provide an airport shuttle. I don't have much time, but I'd assume you can do better for these dates, such as the Holiday Inn Select - Gov't Center for approx. $139 on EasyClickTravel. Let us know what you are looking to do and we'll assist you further.
  16. Welcome! Before you can start bidding, you will need to understand how to find NYC's free rebid areas. Take a look through this thread to see how to identify the 2 rebid areas for the 4* level. Once you find them, please post their names and we'll provide you with a bidding strategy. If you have any questions or problems, just let us know. :)
  17. Hotel @ MIT is about 4 blocks from the Central Square stop. Royal Sonesta is about 3-5 blocks from the Lechmere stop.Judging from the 'retail' price, the Hotel @ MIT appears to be the 4* on Hotwire.
  18. Just a note: If you anticipate the need for 2 rooms, discuss it with your group prior to bidding. Then bid on Priceline for 2 rooms. If you bid on 1 room, and go back later to try for a second room, there is a chance that you won't end up with the same hotel.
  19. Welcome! If you haven't seen yet, Hotwire has a 4* in Times Square (Restaurant, Fitness Center, Spa, High-speed Internet, Business Center) for $117. This property doesn't match our current hotwire list, but it might be the Westin Times Square if it was downgraded from a 4.5*. Yet, it could also be another hotel with similar amenities. If you still would want to try priceline to see if you can save an additional $10-30 on a 4* property, take a look through this post to learn about rebidding. The 4* level in NYC has 2 free rebids. Let us know if you want to try priceline, and we'll provide you with a bidding strategy.
  20. Uh oh... it's Sherlock Holmes!Next time, take a look around before trying to call out a member. The rebid change was discussed (multiple times) once it was changed.
  21. Click on the above link, enter your dates, select 2 adults and then "book it"
  22. It's a little farther than I thought, about 0.4 miles from the T station. It's still closer to a subway station when compared to the Radisson and Hyatt Regency in Cambridge.
  23. One possibility may be the Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge. It's relatively cheap for your date, plus it is located close to a green line T station, which will take you directly to the state house @ Park St.. Booked directly, it is $129 for a cancellable reservation, $107 non-refundable, and $117 with an Entertainment Card.
