  1. What Frankfurt zone is that for? Center? Did you check with Expedia?
  2. Hope you can write a review here after your stay. The Howard Plaza is rated as 5star in many sites and is part of worldhotels as "deluxe" hotel (listed within worldhotels as such). Seems a pretty good deal! Thanks for the new hotel for the list.
  3. Got it, too. But well, at least you might use these "bills" for name-your-own-price-bookings, too. Anyway, I never made a "regular" booking on Priceline.
  4. No, I did several best-price-guarantees already too and never had problems because of that (using foreign CCs as well), don't worry. Why should they ban you? They make money out of you..
  5. Agree with you Cooper, in everything. And the Amari Watergate looks for me as a fine hotel, too, but 5star Priceline-Rating ist overrated in IMO as well. Since the 45$-Marriott-Resort deals and the 55-60$-deals for 5* Sukhumvit (or the 60-80$ bids for the Shangri-La) have apparently disappeared, there are far better options to book for Bangkok.
  6. I thought the rooms at the Marriott were much superior to the ones of the Renaissance.
  7. No, the Renaissance has been downgraded to 4 star some time ago.
  8. If I remember correctly, the Savoy Hotel in Prague-West should be a 5star too
  9. I just saw the Bali Conrad appear as a 5-star for Nusa Dua area on Priceline (the "regular" hotel selection window before passing to "name your own price". I checked for same dates end of May/beginning of June, but it usually shows superior prices than the Westin, only for some dates the same price as the Westin (125$), usually the Westin being cheaper... too bad. I assume the Conrad will be the nicer property, but I assume it will be sold more expensive even on name your own price.. so it's hard to score the Conrad there I think (as long as the Westin shows vacancy too).
  10. Seems she might get a little bit more quiet nowadays... saw her recommending another travel site for some specific cases (Bkk) instead of Priceline... (asiarooms.com) and she seems to reply to user requests now on their site...
  11. Well, yes, don't put too much into the "choose your own hotel" option... I made the mistake myself, too, for a bid for Singapore lately. I was assuming that only these properties with displayed photo/logo, star classification and displayed price for "c.y.o.h." might come up in the "bid"-option... well, I was a little bit wrong, as I got a hotel in the bidding section which was at least listed in the "c.y.o.h." section but without price display. Anyway, I think it's helpful to determine the stars' category for a stars' hotel in the bidding section.. as usually the star classifications "should" be the same for "c.y.o.h." and "bid". (So I still believe that the Inter-Continental Singapore might be a "3 star" in the bidding option - because it's listed as a 3 star in the "c.y.o.h.".. - though it should be officially a 4 or 5 star of course..).
  12. The Swissotel is near "Bahnhof Zoo" in the western part of the city ("Kurf
  13. I think you will like the Moevenpick... I think it's nicer than the Renaissance which is just a usual 4star.
  14. The Swissotel might be a possibility as well.
  15. Well, not really a good deal. Marriott.com states 195 MYR (53$) per night for 05/05 and 215 MYR (59US$) for 04/05. And the New World wing usually doesn't get good reviews. Anyway, thanks for contributing your deal.
  16. Well, the Pan Pacific has at least a favourable location in case you prefer to stay in Silom than in Sukhumvit. It's just around the corner of the upper end of Silom Road and the upper end of Suriwongse; the Lumphini Park is practically just opposite, and it's not a long walk to the Skytrain and subway stations of Sala Daeng / Silom. I've never stayed there as the usual rates have always been much higher than what I could get via Priceline for 5star, but I assume it's not a bad hotel at all.
  17. Yes, I assume 85$ will be the minimum bid for 5star BKK nowadays... and probably only for Sukhumvit.. Siam Square has usually been more expensive, and 5star Riverside/Silom hasn't shown up quite a long time. Good luck.
  18. Was 67$ your first bid for AMS Airport? Seems a little bit on the high side for the Courtyard. It's a nice hotel, but actually quite far from the airport.
  19. Yes, sure. I took these myself. But the standard rooms look different.
  20. Yes, I tried too for similar period (May9th). But only for Marina Bay / City Center.. 4 and 5 star.. no go.. only at around 102$ for 4 star Marina Bay I got a counteroffer to 125$... wow... (didn't take the counter). - (I didn't try for Orchard because don't want the Marriott at the moment).
  21. Upon my previous two guarantee cases.. they reimbursed me the full difference between the complete rates (including taxes and fees)... but well.. in this case, it's only a few bucks..
  22. Best price guarantee refused... :-( "We understand that you would like to receive a refund of the difference, since you found better rate for the same hotel and you have attached a screenshot of the same. Your claim was not accepted due to the fact that we were unable to find better rates on the website. Since, prices keeps varying we cannot accept screenshot as a mode of proof of better rate." (It still shows 76US$ in PL hotels for Albert Court for that period..)
  23. Ooops... this was probably a complete overbid... even PL itselfs sells this hotel regularly for less... (I can do a best price guarantee.. but well...)... - I really didn't expect this hotel to be here.. I was indeed thinking the Inter-Continental will be the 3 star in Bugis (as it usually appears as a 3 star in the PL-hotels-windows before you make your bid) - and the Albert Court, I didn't expect it to appear in the name-your-own-price option (because I probably made the wrong assume that only these hotels participate which appear with photo/symbol and current price in the regular PL booking windows before you go to name your own price... )... Well you never stop learning!!! (65$ was first bid.... only Bugis zone, only 3star - no 4-5 stars on offer -; rejected with up to 63$ several times in the last days). - Used savingsbarn.com Albert Court Hotel Albert Court Hotel 180 Albert Street Singapore, Singapore 65-6339393 Check-In Date: Monday, May 8, 2006 Check-Out date: Tuesday, May 9, 2006 Your offer price: $65.00 Number of nights: 1 Subtotal: $65.00 Taxes and service fees: $18.25 Total charges: $83.25
  24. It's the same hotel.. just that the Resort & Spa offers a timeshare club (Vacation club) as well (same as for the JW Marriott Phuket).
  25. Thanks for the new hotel! Could you clarify the Priceline zone where this hotel is located?
