I had bid unsuccessfully in the nearby Hauppauge zone in an attempt to get the Hyatt, I guess $43 bids are a thing of the past, or until the fall and winter. I changed to the MacArthur zone and thought I'd be able to snag the 3* Holiday Inn for $55 as in the past, but I was rejected. Made several other rebids by adding the "tapped out" Hauppauge zone, and dropped down to the 2.5 star level while increasing my bid to $62, success. Room Cost: $62.00 Taxes and Fees: $16.38 Total Room Cost: $78.38 Upon check in, the rate on my folio was listed as $54, so it appears that I had overbid for this stay, but I am pleased nonetheless. The rack rate was $119 plus tax. The hotel is nice and looks recently refurbished, there is an on site restaurant and bar. The rooms are on the small side and the bathrooms are tiny for a suburban property. Free wifi is a big plus and the hotel is right off the L.I.E. I used BiddingHelper.com to make my bids and check out rates from HOTWIRE, it appeared that the Holiday Inn was available for $73. I find that BiddingHelper.com is a great tool for rebidding when I am out of rebid zones and I need to start a new bid, all I have to do is click the "search" tab since my desired zone is already plugged into the search box. I was also able to use the search box on the upper right to see recent bids for this area, an invaluable tool.

Greetings! Park and fly is best when arranged directly with the hotel. With that said, it is sometimes possible to identify the hotel using the amenities on HOTWIRE. If you can do this, call the hotel directly and see if they have a rate for long term parking. Please use the links on the Support Page if you proceed.

You may want to check out HOTWIRE and use this rate as a basis to start a name your own price bid at PRICELINE.

The Holiday Inn Midtown is on 57th between 9th and 10th. Had you considered the Metro North train and leaving your car in Stamford since you are coming from the north? I think it takes you to Grand Central Terminal. You can take the subway to Battery Park and pick up the ferry. I read somewhere that you get a better view of the Statue of Liberty from the Staten Island Ferry and it's free.

Started bidding at $105 but was given a counteroffer at $129.00.....yea, right!!! I never accepted a counter previously and was not going to start today. I added a rebid zone and bid $110, rejected. Added another rebid zone and bid $114, success! Offer Price: $114.00 Taxes & Fees: $31.43 Total: $145.43 I was hoping for the Hilton and I have yet to read reviews of the Sheraton, but hoping that it is fine, it's a 4* Sheraton after all. This is a single Sunday night stay as July turns into August, so occupancy levels likely begat this winning bid. I used BiddingHelper.com to make my bid, but did not even check HOTWIRE this time. I also used the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins which was particularly helpful in crafting this bid as I really wanted to stay in this zone due to familiarity and wanting to be close to times square and the theater district. The prepaid rate through Sheraton is $251 or $292 all in with taxes.

If you are looking for a dinner suggestion, right next door to the Days Inn is Otto's Brauhaus, featuring German fare. Sauerbraten, Smoked Pork Chop, Schnitzel, and in the summer they have an outdoor Biergarten. They also have standard menu items as well.

I believe each hotel establishes It's own policy regarding cash deposits, PRICELINE makes the reservation. I stayed at a Hyatt and the cash deposit was $60.

This lot is closed between Midnight and 6 AM and you don't have in and out privileges. You can also click on the section "Go to the PPA Parking Locator" and there are pull down menus to locate lots and garages near the hotel.

You can't bid for a specific hotel with PRICELINE, you must be willing to accept any hotel in the zone of your choice and at the minimum star rating you select. You can sometimes identify a Hotwire listing with the amenities.

Started the bidding in the Hauppauge zone at $43 thinking it would be immediately accepted at the Hyatt, but was denied. I bid up to $49 all the way down to a 2*, but it was not meant to be. I switched over to the Macarthur zone and bid $49 at the 3* and was given a counteroffer at $58, which I rejected, but added Hauppauge as a rebid zone and bid $55, success. Offer Price: $55.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.43 Total: $70.43 Overall I'm happy with this win, this is your standard Holiday Inn that was remodeled a few years ago and has a pleasant staff, rack rate was $139. Made my bids using the PRICELINE links on the board.

I stayed here in February, it reminds me of an older 1980's era Marriott property. My room was fine, clean, but a little worn. The common areas were fine. The hotel is adjacent to a shopping mall. I had a few drinks at the bar and breakfast in the restaurant and the service was fine. The bar serves a microbrew lager from Quebec that just won a bronze medal at some world beer competition, it was pretty good. If I were to return to Montreal, I would absolutely stay here again, although I wouldn't want to pay rack rates. Your $75 bid is probably less than the rack rate for the Days Inn and in my opinion is a very good deal for the Gouverneur given it's location and the class of accommodations.

The Riviera resort fee is now $11 but it includes free wifi and valet parking.

If planning to go to Hershey Park, you can get discount tickets at Giant Food Stores in Pennsylvania. With your bonus card, which is free, you can buy an all day pass for $46. You can even preview the park the night before, if the park closes at 11:00 pm, you can be admitted at 7:30 the night before you use your ticket. But the best part of buying a ticket in advance is bypassing all of the folks waiting in line at hershey to buy tickets. Kind of like an EZ pass at a toll booth.

Happy Anniversary, but the best deals are when the hotel has excess room inventory to sell. This could be at the last minute, but if the hotel is nearing full occupancy, why would they discount? I recently won a Priceline bid and upon check in I was informed that the hotel was sold out. Had I waited until the last day, I probably would not have won that bid. Also, members of this board are happy to help, but please ask when you have firm plans.

Yes, I noticed a difference as well. It appears that you can pull up to 10 booked upcoming trips. But the feature I liked and is no longer available is the listing of bidding history. After a session of several failed bids, I would sometimes go into my account and see my bids which were listed by a trip or itinerary number. Also, the winning bid history is now in reverse sequence, my oldest trips are listed first, which seems odd.

Yes, the standard rate from Avis was around $50 per day and HOTWIRE was around $33 for the same class. And yes, a good trip

I was told by a relative that St. Augustine has one of the nicest beaches in Florida. Enjoy!
