  1. Says 4 diamond, 4 star on their website http://vdara.com/about/ Could just be because of the lack of amenities. The rooms are definitely 5 star quality in my opinion.
  2. Well it did cause me to accidentally win the Trump last night haha! (no biggie though) but it's not as obvious from just looking at the list that it's the Trump zone... I didn't even notice just plain "Strip North"
  3. Yea it's not terrible, and actually the more I think about it, it will be pretty great! I like that it's non smoking, and I'm sure and easy in and out. Besides it's better than what any of my other options were. I am driving in so driving isn't an issue. I'm glad I'm close to the mall, I LOVE fashion show. I guess obviously my pie in the sky fantasy wins were Aria, Wynn or Venetian, but at $500 a night that weekend, I'll glady stay here instead!
  4. Damn it, I didn't notice it said "vicinity" and there was a separate area for north (they took off Condo), I was a little hasty. But this should be ok :) It's a very pricy weekend because there's a fight. It was this or booking Luxor... which it's my friends first time in Vegas, I think this will be a little more impressive. Any tips for this place? I've never been. Used the PRICELINE link.
  5. I stayed at Vdara over Christmas, and it's an AMAZING hotel, great service, really easy to get your car, great rooms. Also it's literally 20 steps away, across the driveway from Aria. It wasn't a big deal at all to walk over there to eat and gamble. Just for your information it's a great property! Also if I'm not mistaken isn't Vdara rated 4 star?
  6. I started at $65, then I added a zone, $68, added a zone, $72, then added a zone $74. I won the Sheraton. Pretty excited about it. It's going for $140 on their website. I've been to Downtown Seattle on vacation 5 times in the past few years, and every time I bid on my hotel, and every time a different hotel, which is pretty cool, always makes for a unique experience, and I have saved SO much money thanks to Priceline and this website! I wasn't too excited about the squeeky Westin when I went last so glad to win something different haha. Used the PRICELINE link.
  7. The Westin is fine, like the other poster said, not my favorite. But it was clean, and nice. Have to look into this Sorrento place hmm. But there are so many options for 4 star Pike's Place, it's not like every win will be those. I've done 5 trips to Seattle in the past few years, all rooms from Priceline, everytime a different hotel. Still, I'd rather save the money and be slightly inconvenienced... To be honest.
  8. Only Trump would be non smoking.. maybe Vdara? Honestly though. It's Vegas, you really can't escape the smoke, it's part of the atmosphere. The new hotels have much better air filtration and things, it's pretty tolerable.
  9. I used the PRICELINE link :) I've been trying for a few days... I did 75, 80, 85.. and I finally got this for $91, good deal! I love Priceline! All my friends were giving me suggestions for these 2 star hotels for $140, I told them, I can do better :) Never heard of this place, nor can I picture it.. but I did want something different (than the Westin I thought I'd get) so I'm happy :o such a great deal! It's $261 on their website.
  10. I stayed here last year, same deal like $45.. it was actaully a great hotel, really nice and clean, and they give you cookies :) my only issue was it's a little hard to find, but other than that is was a great stay for the money.
  11. Parking is a fortune everywhere downtown. I'm trying to figure it out too. I'm staying at the Boneventue, but the event I'm going to is at LA Live. I could end up paying $120 for 2 days worth of parking :) The Sheraton is right at the Metro station.. that's helpful, if you don't need a car.
  12. I bid $70 was rejected, offered $90, added Lawndale $73, was rejected, added Culver City and $75 and it was accepted. Good deal it's $261 a night on their website. Going to the Idol finale, we wanted to be nearby :) I used the PRICELINE link originally, not sure about the rebidding.
  13. Well, there aren't very many hotels in Valencia. The Hyatt is a little bigger than the others though, but it is probably the most desired. But, just let me say, I grew up there, and I'm there constantly, with the exception of the Hyatt, being across the street from the mall and a little fancier, almost all the hotels pretty much are the same, 75% of them are in the Stevenson Ranch/ Newhall truck stop type area... I mean just random generic 3 stars. I wouldn't say that any of the hotels you could possibly win would be that bad. The Hilton would be a good win because it's closest to Magic Mountain, you could walk. Parking is over $15 a day at Magic now. :)
  14. There are some really low quality hotels in downtown LA you could probably get that cheap, but I doubt anywhere else.. (my rent in hollywood is more than $35 a day haha :) ) Just a note, Burbank and Glendale are suburbs and don't have much public transit at all. It's very very inconvenient to travel by anything but a car. There is a metro subway system but it runs from Universal through Hollywood, to Downtown basically...
  15. I stayed there a couple years ago when it was under construction, it's very nice! The rooms are very spacious too which is a little bit rare in seattle. The location is great too! Real close to Westlake Center
  16. Yea, that's probably too low. Maybe consider the Hollywood zone, all those 4 stars are nice and in good locations, and the price would be lower.
  17. I'm a local resident in that area. The hotels in West Hollywood/ Beverly Hills are just REALLY expensive. A 5 star can be $800 a night. It's not like Vegas where 5 stars are really cheap. Why no Sofitel? That is the best location. Right across the street from the Beverly Center, and the shops on Robertson. Close to the Grove... IMO I'd prefer that over L'Ermitage, which is in kind of a residential area. All the 4 stars in the Hollywood zone are good hotels. I'd happily recommend anyone coming to town to stay at the Roosevelt, W or the Renaissance. The W is an incredible property, brand new and gorgeous! The Renaissance and Roosevelt are in some of the best possible locations to all the touristy stuff. San Diego would be much less! I stayed at a 3.5 a few weeks ago in Del Mar for like $40 a night.
  18. Those are the only 4 stars in the Hollywood zone it appears. I live in Hollywood and I'm 99% sure there isn't another 4 star hotel around here. Unless you went in to the West Hollywood zone Also personally, The Renaissance and the W are nicer than the Roosevelt. The W isn't in the greatest location, but the hotel is SO spectacular. I think it'd be a good win no matter what :)
  19. Not sure if I used the link.. I know I tried to click on it every time I bid! :) But I had lots of rebidding throughout the day going on. Hope it's nice! Looks like it. If anything I'm satisfied with the location since I won't have a car :)
  20. Nice! I've been fighting with rebids all day. Finally got this :) I'm happy good location, and the retail rate is $190 :) 60%+ off I'll take it.
  21. Yea, I took the bus last time I was there. I took it to Westlake and just walked to my hotel. It took a little longer than the airporter. But it was so cheap, and I didn't have to wait in the freezing weather for the airporter bus to come, and to wait for people, the transit comes all the time. I'd say if you're a big family or have lots of luggage then maybe I'd chose another option.
  22. Oy don't drive, it's actually really easy to get around Seattle without a car... if you are flying in.
  23. Exactly! I stayed at Hotel Max (which is a 3 star) last time I was in Seattle, it had super super tiny claustrophobic rooms, and it was pretty unenjoyable, but I paid like $60 bucks.. I heard someone checking out ahead of me and they paid at least 3x that. Then I would be upset. For some reason, it's almost impossible to get a decent hotel under $100 in Downtown Seattle. So any of these 4 stars for $70-85 are a great deal. I actually, wouldn't be able to travel there if I had to pay full price. Hmm, well you never know, but it seems not too many people have been winning that lately if you look at the wins, but actually they have been running a lot of sales lately, the prices have come down on that hotels retail price, I've noticed. But, that hotel is much smaller than say the Westin or the Sheraton... also the location of the Edgewater, while pretty, isn't that practical considering you walk everywhere in Seattle. IMO.
  24. Pike's Place? They all seem nice to me...I'd be happy to stay in any of those. Yea it's all a crapshoot though. I've definitely accidently overbid for properties before in hopes of getting something else, you can't guarantee it, we don't know which hotels have empty rooms, or why..
