Recently we booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children using Hotwire. The hotel gave us a room with a King bed and a sofa bed. When we contacted Hotwire support about it this is the reply I got from them saying the room we got will sleep the 4 persons we booked. Hotwire Reply: "I called the hotel and spoke with Jen who told me you were in a king suite. As that room does supply one king bed and one pull out, I cannot offer you any compensation for this booking, as it sleeps the number of guests booked. Hotwire guarantees all rooms booked will accommodate the appropriate number of guests in each room, based on the total number of guests and the number of rooms requested at the start of the search. "

We stayed at that Marriott a few times. The last this past summer. They did not charge for the Fitness Room use. However they do charge for the Parking. Which hotels charged Priceline customers extra for their free breakfast. It would be interesting to know for others before bidding in those zones. Thanks!

Hi Everyone, Thanks very much for all the replies. My friend had a direct reservation w/ the Hyatt (w/ some discount). He would've saved money, but didn't change his reservation this time as he was busy, new to doing the opaque provider booking and meeting somebody else who is also staying at the Hyatt. 3.5* Disnyland South Amenities: Fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, Internet, golf, tennis Trip Advisor: 3.5 out of 5 w/ 300+ ratings Dates : 12/19/08 - 12/21/08 - 2 nights This appears to be a match for Anaheim Hilton. quad occupancy query : 2+2 = $54; 3+1 = $69. double occupancy query seems to return the Crowne Plaza at $59 (same amenities and Trip advisor rating in both cases of the quad query. The list of amenities are the same for the Hyatt, but it has a 4.0 Trip advisor rating with less than 300 ratings). I am checking this for a friend of mine. I am confused by the two different rates given for quad occupancy based on how many adults and children are in the party. What kind of different rooms do they provide for 2+2 and 3+1 configurations? I was under the impression that either one should give a room with 2 beds. Based on the fact that for double occupancy, Hotwire offered the Crowne Plaza at $59, do you think the $54 offer for 2+2 is probably bogus (as when we actually try to book it, it may not be there?) This hotel needs to be avoided. The rooms smelled bad, the shower in the bathroom is a very small stall, the windows didn't lock. I hope Priceline will downgrade this to 1*.

I had a reservation at the Springhill Suites Pinehurst for 6 days starting from 7/28/08 at $89/day. I wanted to add 2 more nights at the beginning of the stay and the hotel website wanted $140/day. I thought I would try PRICELINE for those 2 nights and got the same hotel for $65/day. Go figure. I have a few things to report from this summer. For this one, I was able to change my airline reservation to an earlier arrival time. I bid for a rental car on Priceline at the last minute. I bid $18 for a full -size and was countered with a $21 and I took it. Here are the details. That maybe the best strategy for San Diego. Please keep checking periodically to see if anything is available. I have been going to San Diego around the 2nd week of July the past 2 years and will probably be there next year as well. My experience has been that a few bargains show up generally from about 2 months to 1 month before your July dates. Good Luck! thereuare: I am behind in reporting some wins this year. Ramada Canoga Park Warner Center 7126 Desoto Avenue Canoga Park, CA 91303 $43 ... 6/29/08 - 6/30/08 We needed to stay for a night in the area on our last day of this trip and couldn't get anything for 2.5* up to $50. My favorite hotel in the area Staybridge Chatsworth seems no longer to participate in the opaque bidding. Tried for 2* and got the Ramada. Its an ok hotel for the class. Seems to be remodeled recently and the rooms were clean and nice. We thought it was better than the ESA Northridge we stayed last year in the area. Used BetterBidding's PRICELINE link to start the bidding.

Colfax, Yes, we liked the Ayers Corona West very much too! In the past we stayed at he Ayers Yorba Linda (Its in the Anaheim Hills area of the Orange County zone) a few times over the weekends. It was nice also. Did you miss the manager's reception (available Mon-Thu) when you were at Ayers Corona West? As we stayed Wed and Thu nights, we were able to go to it on both days. It was really nice. Its almost like a free dinner. In addition to beer, wine and snacks, they also had a light dinner item each day. First day it was chicken over rice w/ sides of salad and garlic bread. The second day it was spaghetti meatballs w/ the same sides. We also got a room in the motel style building, however our room was on the inside, near the pool. We felt thats probably the best 2.5* hotel we stayed in so far.

2.5* Inland Empire (Ontario) Country Inn & Suites $40 ... 6/27/08 - 6/29/08 I got the Ayers Coronoa West for the previous 2 days, which I couldn't extend into the weekend. Kept trying the Ontario area 2.5* at $40 and kept receiving counter offers. When I checked the "Vacations" I saw the Hilton and a couple of Ayers at the same discounted rate. I wasn't sure which one I was going to get and I didn't want the Hilton. Finally the Country Inn snuck in and grabbed my bid. After staying at the Ayers Corona West, what a dump this is. It badly needs renovation. Front desk people were nice and put us in a King Suite without us asking for it. It also has (a very dated) full kitchen. It should be ok. Colfax, Thanks very much for reporting this! I am looking for a room in the first week of July in the area and there's not much available at the 2.5* level. Between this and the possible Homestead/ESA hotels in the Arcadia area, which one do you think is better? Thanks!

I think Redlands is a different zone and not part of the Inland Empire zone.

Thanks very much for the info! I will wait and see if I can change my flight before getting the rental car. I always use BetterBidding's travel links when bidding or making reservations if they are listed in the travel links! :)

Hi Everyone, It appears that the rental car facility at Raleigh-Durham,NC airport shuts down sometime after midnight. Hotwire doesn't show any cars for pickup after midnight and Priceline and Hertz.com let you choose pickup times up to 12:30am. I currently have a flight coming in at 11:55pm. Am I ok if I can get a car for a 12:30am pickup? What happens if my flight is delayed? Thanks a lot!!!

Nice!!! I hope it shows up more often. I tried to bid in this zone a couple of times in March, but no 2.5* was available below $55. At that time I got the Ayers Inn in nearby Yorba Linda for $50, which is in Priceline's Orange County Anaheim Hills zone. That was also really nice.
