That is a great price. I tried bidding on priceline for PBI the past weekend, when compact rates (without extra discounts) were in the low $20s on Travelocity. More for curiosity than anything, I bid as high as $16 for a compact and didn't get hit. Good thing, too, since I then found a "last minute" $16 rate on Avis, without having to pay priceline's fee.

I think the key to bidding for cars on priceline is to bid VERY low, and expect to be disappointed. Once a year, maybe, you'll be pleasantly surprised. :)
