Hotwire Hotel: 4* San Diego (Gaslamp Quarter-Convention Center) Westgate Hotel

I am deciding on Hotwire between the following hotels for March 22-24.

3* Downtown - Harbor Island Hotel for $69: with Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet

4* Downtown - Harbor Island Hotel for $115: with non-smoking, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center and Internet Access

4* Downtown - Gaslamp Quarter - Convention Center area for $107: Boutique, non-smoking, restaurant, high-speed internet access.

Also, I have tried to get a 4* for $75 in Downtown San Diego - Harbor Island Hotel. It seems that is about what people are getting on priceline for a 4*. Any tips on getting that would be appreciated for the same dates above.

I think your Priceline bid of $75 for 4* could be within $10 of a win.

If you can get a Priceline 4* for $85 you're beating the Hotwire rates.

What would be the likely 4* on PRICELINE? If I had an idea of those and the 3* for $69 on HOTWIRE, I would probably do either of those.

Is the above the full list of amenities that HOTWIRE associates with the 3* property as i'm seeing a hotel offered at the 3* level in this zone with 5 amenity icons when i search for your dates.

With HOTWIRE you can take a guess as to the hotel based upon the amenities shown, with PRICELINE there is no way to target or guess as to the hotel you are likely to receive, you're subject to any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you select.

Using the HOTWIRE links on this board, I ended up getting the Westgate Hotel for this stay. It is a 4* with these amenities:Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa

I picked it up for $83 a night.

The spa indicated to me that it would probably be the Westgate. Thanks for all of your help.
