HenryCorgi Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I am thinking of 3 night in San Francisco. Many good prices on the board for 3.5 fishermans wharf, but not on a holiday. Start bid?
HenryCorgi Posted January 2, 2010 Author Report Posted January 2, 2010 I tried using the free bid system as I understand it, I started at 45 dollars/night 3.5 star fishermans Wharf onlyThen went through 4 more free offers of 50,55,60,65Adding civic center,Marina,Sfo North and south SF. No winIts a holiday weekend. Should I start at 55 next time?

HenryCorgi Posted January 2, 2010 Author Report Posted January 2, 2010 Friday May 28-May 31 3 nights. 3.5 star As I said I bid 45,50,55,60,65 without success using the free bid options in the san Francisco field on Priceline.
AaronJB Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 What would be the desired max bid/budget per night?
Colfax Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Hotwire has a 3.5* in FW for $89.Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, HighspeedThis matches previous reports for the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf.PRICELINE usually beats HOTWIRE on price so you can probably get a 3.5* on Priceline somewhere between $65 and $89 now. I'll guess around $70-$80.Or you can wait a few weeks and try $65 again.
HenryCorgi Posted January 3, 2010 Author Report Posted January 3, 2010 I bid up to 65 dollars for this Memorial day weekend on a 3.5 star Fishermans Wharf and was rejected Yesterday.I read a post where someone got a 3 star for 60 dollars/night, Best Western Tuscan Inn Fishermans Wharf. That was mid May on a weekend. I though that's a good start.I bid 60 dollars 3* fishermans wharf and was accepted first try at the Best WesternBest rate Hotwhire 3* Fishermans Wharf- $89/night (same dates)Retail rate on these dates, hotel site- 200/night (same dates)Subtotal 180Taxes/fees 37.2total 217.20I can't believe this 70% off! RR
AaronJB Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Congratulations on your success! Certainly an absolutely fantastic discount, and a great rate for the holiday weekend. Glad you are pleased with the result.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.Enjoy your stay.
