tmeylor Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 I have been checking out the results on PRICELINE for the Palo Alto-Mountain View area. I don't see any results for a 4* hotel. It seems like the only option that would be available is the Stanford Park Hotel in Menlo Park. Is this accurate? Have you heard of any successful bids for a 4* in this zone? Would like to stay as close to Stanford University as possible. I see the 3 1/2* Westin is a possibility, but didn't want to risk getting Dinah's Garden Hotel.
thereuare Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 There have been no 4* hotels reported to the board in this zone.Since location is important for this stay, have you tried searching HOTWIRE to see what is offered there? You may be able to figure out th hotel being offered based upon th amenities shown before the purchase and then have an educated guess just how from the Univesirty the hotel is locataed. You can also use MAPS and HOTELS.com to see hotels offered in the area and their distance to the University.Let us know what you decide to do for this stay and/or if we can be of further help.PS- Please follow-up your previous Hotwire Long Beach thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

tmeylor Posted September 16, 2009 Author Report Posted September 16, 2009 I updated the Long Beach HOTWIRE thread.I was hoping someone could help me identify the 3* hotel I mentioned earlier in Palo Alto - Menlo Park on HOTWIRE.
thereuare Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 No evidence of a downgrade yet, but best guess is that thi is the Creekside Inn, downgraded since the last time it was reported at the 3.5* level.... the amenities match the previous amenity combination used and the tripadvisor info shown by HOTWIRE is consistent with this property too. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
