seningen
Just trying to get a feeler for good ski locations that might have decent PL/HW participation?Generally interested Rockies or West.Any places actually PL/HW participation on the slopes? In my mind SLC does not work, since the skiing is 1hr away.More interested in "in the ski town" or "on the slopes"pointers appreciated.thanks, mike Link to comment
Shingwedzi
No need to rule out SLC. There's a Residence Inn (2.5* Marriott) at the foot of Cottonwood Canyon--pretty convenient to Snowbird and Alta. Link to comment
WillTravel
I can't say you would actually get anything on Priceline or Hotwire, but Whistler would be a great location. The deals won't be quite as good as the past due to the high Canadian dollar. Link to comment
bbbb
Lake Tahoe has the Embassy Suites that can be had for around $80 on Hotwire. Its only steps away from the Heavenly ski resorts lift. You can walk out the front door and be in a casino. Link to comment
dahammer
Hey, what about Scranton-Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania?? 1000' vertical drops at Montage, or "Vermont Skiing" at Elk Mountain (only an hour away), and plenty of icy trails of man-made snow!!! Hotwire has a 3* for $85.....this may be the Radisson in Downtown Scranton..... :) Link to comment
TheGreatGoat
Hotwire does have an amity listed that is on the slopes but I am not sure where the property's are located my guess would be major ski places, ie Vail. Link to comment
lowballer
Park City, Utah has a few Priceline properties, including a very pleasant Marriott I reviewed here. There's also the I-70 corridor in Colorado in the Dillon/Silverthorne/Frisco area.If you're looking at Tahoe, Reno and Carson City aren't too far away from much of the north shore, especially Mt. Rose.Of course the whole point of PL or HW is to dump excess inventory, which there isn't a whole lot of in high season. Still, it might be useful for stays during midweek or near the beginning or end of the season, for example. Link to comment
