LglBlonde
I know that Priceline prices fluctuate greatly, but you can sometimes figure out what PL paid. If you have a hotel with the on-TV account information - check that! This worked at the Four Points Sheraton in Charlotte last January, AND at the Hilton Towers. At the Renaissance in Asheville this past September, it did not work. Anyway, the online account balance at the Hilton Towers in Charlotte this past weekend showed that Priceline paid a total of $46.54. I bid $45 and with taxes & fees it was $57. So I feel I was probably pretty close to what would have been accepted at $45. Maybe just a little less would have got it also, but at a regular rate of $119 a night, $57 isn't bad!! Anyone else had success with this?(I posted this under the NC Charlotte PL post too!) Link to comment
WillTravel
Yes, this worked for me at the Holiday Inn Heathrow Ariel. I've heard of it working at other Holiday Inns in the UK, although I don't think it worked for me at Holiday Inn Kensington Forum. Link to comment
TravelGuy
I'm surprised how often one can see what Priceline paid. I've seen it numerous times - either on the TV, the hard copy folio, or the form one signs at check-in. Link to comment
WillTravel
This method also worked at the Westin Grand in Berlin.Priceline asks hotels not to reveal the rates, but obviously some are not very discreet. Link to comment
knagl
I experienced this when I booked a hotel through Travelocity. The in-room TV had a "view your bill/checkout" feature, and the bill showed what Travelocity paid for the room, which was roughly $15 less than what I paid Travelocity. It was still a good deal, though, so I didn't mind knowing that Travelocity made a few bucks on the deal, too.
