Colfax Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding, AlabamaPrincesses.Hotel Se has been reported with those icons in the past, so that would be my best guess. If you purchase please use this HOTWIRE link and let us know what you get.
AlabamaPrincesses Posted June 9, 2009 Author Report Posted June 9, 2009 Thanks for the tip. I checked out the Se and it doesn't look like a kid-friendly hotel. I'm glad I asked! I will definitely use your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links and will post back when we book our hotel stay.

If not, are you searching for more than one room OR for more than the defaults 2adults/0children?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

AaronJB Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 This would match the amenities previously reported for the Doubletree and Quality Inn, so either are possibilities. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link.
AlabamaPrincesses Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Posted June 10, 2009 This would match the amenities previously reported for the Doubletree and Quality Inn, so either are possibilities. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link. How can a Quality Inn be called a 3*? Just curious! A new Hotwire listing caught my attention this evening. I can't find anything to match this exact set of features. The tennis is throwing me off. Any thoughts??? 4* Gaslamp Quarter Convention Center$91Fitness CenterPoolRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed InternetTennis
Colfax Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 That looks like a match for the Hilton Gaslamp. If you click on the Tennis icon you'll see it just means there are tennis courts "within walking distance or a short drive", NOT that the hotel itself has a tennis court. It's a misleading icon that could describe any hotel in San Diego really.I want to verify that you're aware of BetterBidding's Hotwire Hotel List, AlabamaPrincesses, because all four hotels you've requested to ID were already in the Hotwire Hotel List with the same icons you found. Even if you find a perfect match in the Hotel List it's okay to ask for confirmation here because icons can change. But the Hotel List is a good place to "shop around", see what the possibilities are, and if you find a hotel you like there you'll know what to look for on Hotwire.Hotwire Hotel List-California
AlabamaPrincesses Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Posted June 10, 2009 Thanks for the info about the hotel list. I feel like an idiot for bothering you guys with my questions... Your site is a great tool for a first time HOTWIRE / PRICELINE bidder, like myself. I will report back when I book our hotel stay.
Colfax Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 You're not an idiot, AlabamaPrincesses, and we're happy to answer any additional questions that might come up. I just wanted to bring the Hotel Lists to your attention in case you weren't aware they were there. You mentioned you were looking for a "kid friendly" hotel but "kid friendly" means different things to different people. Are you looking for a hotel with a large pool? Free breakfast? Near SeaWorld? If you can describe what you're looking for maybe someone can offer suggestions.
AlabamaPrincesses Posted June 11, 2009 Author Report Posted June 11, 2009 I booked the 4* Manchester Hyatt using your HOTWIRE Link.June 25 - 29, 20092 Adults and 2 Kids$96 per nightGrand Total for 4 nights $436.18Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, SpaI was somewhat concerned about the reviews on TripAdvisor saying that the spa pool area is loud at night. I called the hotel directly and they assured me that they could place us in a room away from the spa pool (which is turned into a night club in the summer time). FYI - She said that they have 2 pools and the large pool is not used as a club. It is sometimes rented for private parties, but when that happens the Spa Pool is open for hotel guests and is not used as a club. Just thought your readers might want to know since the last 2 TripAdvisor reviews complained about this. Thanks for your help!!!
AaronJB Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Congratulations on your success! :)Great deal for this property, which is $219 regular price on these dates. Glad the hotel was able to clarify the issues regarding the spa pool and was willing to place you away from it.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's HOTWIRE link.Enjoy your stay.
