Hotwire Hotel: Monterey 2* or 2.5*, help needed

Hi,

I see 2 options for my budget in Monterey, one night - September 8th till September 9th.

2* for 49$ only has high speed internet

2.5* for 56$, no amnesties...

Any chance to figure out what is it? Or just book motel 8 and get it over with?

There are 2 motel 8.

One is 64$, the other 79$

One of them gets pretty good reviews... so it comes down to if you want to pay a little more for Motel 8 OR take your chances for hopefully something equivalent or better for a little less. At this star level, and for $20-$25 savings, it comes down to your personality (how easy are you able to adapt and 'go with the flow' when things don't go well) vs. how much you value $25.

Hotwire often rates hotels higher than PRICELINE, so that HOTWIRE 2.5* at $56 is likely a 2* on Priceline.

If you're willing to spend $56 for an unknown 2.5* or 2* why not try bidding to $56 for a 3* on PRICELINE first? It probably won't be accepted but it doesn't cost anything to try.
