denzel Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 Need help identifying:4.5* hotel in Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego $155 Ammenities:Fitness CenterPoolRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed InternetThank you!
Colfax Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 I suspect this is the U.S. Grant with a new set of icons, but I'm not certain. The Grant is the only reported 4.5* in the zone. U.S. Grant is in Hotwire Vacation Packages for your dates with its usual icons: Fitness, Highspeed, Restaurant. Those are a subset of the five icons you posted----not a perfect match, but a pattern we sometimes see.If there were TripAdvisor stats posted that would help decide if it's Grant or not.Without TA stats or a match in Vacation Packages it's a guessing game, and my best guess is U.S. Grant. If you purchase please use this HOTWIRE link and let us know what it turns out to be.
thereuare Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 The U.S. Grant is in the (Downtown - Harbor Island) zone... the hotel denzel is requesting help with above is in the Gaslamp Quarter zone, so i don't think this would be the U.S. Grant. No evidence of such, but perhaps this is an upgrade of the Solamar?? :)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. Colfax Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 The U.S. Grant is in the (Downtown - Harbor Island) zone...Oops! :) Back to the drawing board. Solamar seems like a good possibility.
yellowdog Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 Back to the drawing board. Solamar seems like a good possibility.Solomar is still rated 4* per todays VP
Danni0005 Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 I doubt that Solmar would be a 4.5*...... It has a pool, so, if it is one of the current 4*'s that got upgraded it would be the Omni, Hilton, or Solmar.... Or, the Hard Rock just opened down there, so maybe it could be the Hard Rock? i am vewry interested on the outcome of this one!

denzel Posted January 9, 2010 Author Report Posted January 9, 2010 My stay at the Se San Diego was wonderful! We had a room that overlooked the pool area, where they had nightly parties and cirque-style acrobatics. The service was the best part, even though the accommodations were also outstanding. The staff was plentiful, and extremely helpful. We used the house car (a Cadillac) several times to get to the Bay and Zoo. WELL worth the money. The only (small) downside was the location. But it was a very easy walk to the Bay, Gaslamp, shopping, etc. I'd recommend Se over and over.
