Booked through Betterbidding. Bid $42, $47, and at $52 was picked up by the Roseville Radisson. Was HOPING to get into Residence Inn - where I have stayed before. I haven't stayed at the Radisson but the reviews are pretty negative. Older hotel, somewhat run down, and with those dreaded "sleep number" beds -- where you can dial in how many hours you want to sleep - with a maximum of 6. Oh well. Thats the breaks with Priceline. You have to be prepared to take the bad with the good or don't play here. No big deal.

the sleep number beds allow you to adjust the firmness of the mattress through an air bladder. You may want to ask if there are any rooms with normal mattresses. You have the right attitude when it comes to priceline bidding as you have no control over the hotel that you end up with, so deciding to make the best of it is the best course of action. You will get some great deals and some marginal ones over time and typically save over 40% or more, so you have to take the bitter with the better.

What I hate the most is being "upgraded" to the next star level. In Minneapolis area, there are a lot of good 3 star hotels, and the new 3.5 star ones are way worse in some cases.

The absolute worst thing that can happen to you in the MOA zone, is to be bidding on a 2.5 star hotel, and get upgraded to that HORRIBLE Holiday Inn at 3 stars. It is more like a 1 star.

Are you talking about the Holiday Inn Bloomington on 94th? It was downgraded from 3* to 2.5* several years ago.
