Looking to match the hotel for Friday night on 1/23/2009. Hotwire sent me an ad for $113.00 for a 4 star hotel near convention center . I was looking for the Double tree hotel. Any suggestions?

I'm not currently seeing the hotel you're describing.

Checking 2 adults/0 children for 1/23, Hotwire has a 4* in Gaslamp-Convention zone for $146 with these icons:

Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Highspeed, Tennis

$146 is quite a bit more than the price you posted. If you're still interested at that rate let me know and I'll try to ID.

You said you saw the $113 rate in an email Hotwire sent you. Did you go to Hotwire's site and try to duplicate the offer there? Hotwire frequently sends out emails promoting prices that aren't really available when you try to book.

Also, if you're talking about the Doubletree on Front Street that's in the Downtown-Harbor Island zone, not the Gaslamp-Convention zone.

Yes, it was on an email that was sent to me from hotwire. It was a trip watcher alert that I received for the $113.00. The hotel was sent with several other hotels listed as a 4-stars in Gaslamp Quarter - Convention Center.

Yes, I do want to be downtown by the harbor since we are leaving on a cruise on Saturday.

It doesn't look like the Doubletree is being offered for 1/23 on HOTWIRE now. Is Doubletree the only hotel you want?

a 3.5* in the Downtown/Harbor Island area for $86 with the amenities Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business is showing - that would appear to be a possible match for the Sheraton Suites.

No, our friends are staying at the doubletree so we wanted to be close. We haven't stayed in San Diego so we didn't know which are the nice hotels.

It's possible the Doubletree will show up on HOTWIRE between now and January 23. Inventory is always changing. Doubletree is a 3.5* in Downtown-Harbor Island zone. The current HOTWIRE 3.5* in DT-HI includes "Smokefree Rooms" in its icons. Doubletree has smoking rooms so this 3.5* isn't Doubletree.

If you see a different 3.5* hotel appear that doesn't have "Smokefree" among its icons post back at that time we'll take a look at it.
