AaronJB Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Unfortunately, I'm not seeing this property at all in the kearney mesa stadium area for this date, I'm only seeing a 3* with different amenities. Are you still seeing it?
elizabethmc Posted December 30, 2008 Author Report Posted December 30, 2008 need hotel for one night near san diego airport -
AaronJB Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Please keep all requests for help regarding the same trip in the same thread.Did you see my response to your initial question?Regarding a hotel near the airport, we need more to go on - are you looking at a hotwire listing, budget per night?
elizabethmc Posted December 30, 2008 Author Report Posted December 30, 2008 thank you for your patience ! - it is a three star for $69 with those amenities - we had picked it because it had an airport shuttle but now i think it may be the holiday inn which charges for shuttle and we may be better off with a cheaper hotel near airport - we are coming in late from east coast and only need one night so $69 price range
Colfax Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 I'm looking at Hotwire for 2 adults/0 children on 1/16/09.The 3* currently displayed in Downtown-Harbor Island zone is $93 and it doesn't have a shuttle icon. The hotel you saw might have disappeared since this afternoon. If you want something near the airport in the $60's I'd suggest bidding for a 3* in Priceline's Downtown-Harbor Island zone, and if that doesn't work try for a 2.5*. If you win a Downtown hotel that doesn't have a shuttle the cabfare isn't much, around $10-12, depending which hotel you get.If that interests you and you want a more detailed bidding strategy let us know.
elizabethmc Posted December 31, 2008 Author Report Posted December 31, 2008 thank you - would be interested in strategy
Colfax Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 When bidding 3* in San Diego you have four free rebid zones. If you need help determining your free rebid zones please ask before you bid.I suggest bidding $50 for a 3* in Downtown-Harbor Island zone; then raise $5 per free rebid, up to $70.If that fails close your browser, access Priceline again, and start a new bid of $45 for 2.5* in Downtown-Harbor Island. When bidding 2.5* you only have three free rebid zones, not four. Raise $5 per free rebid up to $60.Hopefully that will be enough. Please start your bids with this PRICELINE link.
