chimmu Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Please id this hotel : 3-star hotel near SeaWorld - Mission Bay - Shelter Island with pool, laundry and high speed internet. The Holiday Inn Seaworld has a restaurant in addition but this hotel does not list it. 12/29 for 3 nights.
Colfax Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 I don't think this is the Holiday Inn SeaWorld, chimmu, but I'm unable to identify what it is.The HI was reported here just a couple days ago with a Resturant icon. And the HI shows in Hotwire Vacation Packages for your dates with a Restaurant icon. Also the hotel you're looking at doesn't have TripAdvisor stats listed, and the Holiday Inn SeaWorld usually displays them."Pool, Laundry, Highspeed" are very common icons that could describe any number of hotels in the area. I don't really have enough information to make a guess, but this could be something like a Comfort Inn or Best Western. Was the Holiday Inn the hotel you were trying to get?I see a very good deal in the Old Town zone. It's a 2.5* for $44 that appears to match the Holiday Inn Express Old Town. (ID believed correct but not guaranteed.)Icons: Smokefree rooms, Shuttle, Continental Breakfast, Pool, Laundry, Highspeed Internet. If you purchase that please use this HOTWIRE link, or if you have other questions let us know.
chimmu Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 thanks for the info... from the previous posts I see that there are two of them one is the Holiday Inn Seaworld 3* and the other Express 2.5*but they are not showing up every time I search .. let me try a few times and will probably go with your suggestion.
Colfax Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 There are so many Holiday Inn brand properties around San Diego, some with very similar names, that it's difficult to keep them all straight. :) I was searching on 2 adults/0 children. How many people are you searching for?
chimmu Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 There are so many Holiday Inn brand properties around San Diego, some with very similar names, that it's difficult to keep them all straight. :) I was searching on 2 adults/0 children. How many people are you searching for?oh ok... 2 adults/2 children... did not know if this makes a difference... I am just looking for a resonably priced decent hotel near sea world :) that 3* HI seemed to be a good choice... thanks!
Colfax Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 When you search on "2 adults/0 children" you're guaranteed "Double Occupancy", which could be a room with one double bed. You could get two beds, and near SeaWorld you usually do, because it's an area that caters to families and the hotels there have a lot of two-bed rooms. Still two beds aren't guaranteed when you search on "2 adults/0 children".When you search on "3 adults/0 children" or "2 adults/2 children" then you're guaranteed a room with two beds. However the hotels offered could be different ones that what you see when searching "2 adults/0 children". Or it could be the same hotel, but at a higher price. Now that I know you need two beds I'll search again, and get back to you.I am just looking for a resonably priced decent hotel near sea world that 3* HI seemed to be a good choice... thanks!I want to make sure you understand...I don't think the 3* Holiday Inn Seaworld is one of the choices being offered for your dates. It's some other mystery 3* or the 2.5* Holiday Inn Express Old Town.
Colfax Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Good news.Adding 2 children doesn't change the hotel options or the price. There's still the mystery 3* in SeaWorld-Shelter Island zone for $54, or the Holiday Inn Express Old Town (probably) for $44.I'd probably go with the HIE since it's two beds with free breakast. Over three days that's 12 breakfasts you won't have to pay for. Old Town's not far from SeaWorld either.Let us know what you decide.
chimmu Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 went ahead with the booking for the 3* Its indeed the same HI :) for $54 12/29 - 3 nightsHoliday Inn Mission Bay-Sea World 3737 Sports Arena BlvdSan Diego, California 92110 (619) 881-6100I called the old town HI they did not have any double beds for my dates.... 1 King bed for $102/nightand my current searches did not show the the other HI Express 2.5* on De Soto which has complimentary breakfast :)thanks anyway...I saved some $$ atleast (used the HOTWIRE link) I was very close to make a booking via the HI website for $70 a night :o
Colfax Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 You wanted this to be the Holiday Inn SeaWorld, chimmu, and I tried to convince you it wasn't. But you bought it anyhow and you were RIGHT! Do you want my job? lolCongrats on this good price for the exact hotel you wanted.Another poster bought this Holiday Inn a week ago and it had a Restaurant icon then, plus TripAdvisor stats. Today no Restaurant icon or TripAdvisor stats. A good reminder that icons can change at any time; a hotel might have more than one icon set; and TripAdvisor stats can come and go.Also the Holiday Inn still shows in Vacation Packages for your exact dates with the Restaurant icon. This doesn't happen often but it illustrates a limitation to using Vacation Packages for making hotel IDs; a hotel doesn't always display exactly the same icons in the Hotel and Vacation Package products. Thanks for using the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link. Enjoy your stay.
chimmu Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 thanks Colfax for following up... I will remember to write a review after I get back... regards!
