DaveB99 Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Can someone confirm for me the dummy zone I can use for rebidiing for the downtown San Diego zone.I can ONLY stay in Downtown San Diego at a 2 star or above. So I can rebid for a 4 star in Del Mar or Sorrento area and get rebids for downtown. I see no 4 stars in Del Mar or Sorrento.Am I correct in this? I am scared to try this without fear or actually getting Del Mar or Sorrento. Are there resort palm tree things in these 2 areas??
Colfax Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding, DaveB99.I'm not totally following your question. Are you asking for a strategy for a 4* in Downtown San Diego? Or are you looking for the least expensive room in Downtown San Diego that's rated 2* or higher? What are your travel dates? What is your budget per night?
DaveB99 Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding, DaveB99.I'm not totally following your question. Are you asking for a strategy for a 4* in Downtown San Diego? Or are you looking for the least expensive room in Downtown San Diego that's rated 2* or higher? What are your travel dates? What is your budget per night?I think I figured this out. Sorry I am a little slow :) I want only downtown San Diego cheap as possible. 2 star is fine. So I really have no dummy zone options because all the other zones in san diego have 2 star hotels. I guess that rebid strategy only works when you are going higher star level. I am currently waiting the 24 hour period then upping it $2 each day. I thought I could dummy zone a 2 star but you can't. My dates are 1/12 to 1/21.
dahammer Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 My dates are 1/12 to 1/21.would you consider splitting your bid into two or three stays since your trip is 9 days?
DaveB99 Posted December 30, 2008 Author Report Posted December 30, 2008 would you consider splitting your bid into two or three stays since your trip is 9 days?I guess. Sorry my stay is 1/15 to 1/21.... total of 6 nights.
Colfax Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I am currently waiting the 24 hour period then upping it $2 each day.How high have you bid? Will you have a car? Even most 2* hotels in Downtown San Diego charge for parking, if that's a consideration.
DaveB99 Posted December 30, 2008 Author Report Posted December 30, 2008 How high have you bid? Will you have a car? Even most 2* hotels in Downtown San Diego charge for parking, if that's a consideration.I am at 52 as of right now. Got rejected at 52. I have no car. Doing a convention.
DaveB99 Posted December 31, 2008 Author Report Posted December 31, 2008 I am at 52 as of right now. Got rejected at 52. I have no car. Doing a convention.Sweet :) :) :o :) . Got Comfort Inn GasLamp for $54. Walk to my convention. I have stayed there before.. Expedia is $102.I probably will never use the dummy zone because I am cheap now with the recession and go for 2 star hotels. Just wait the 24 hours and chip away at it a couple weeks before.....
Colfax Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 That's great, DaveB99! Almost half price for a hotel you've stayed at before and like.We hardly see any 2* bidding in Downtown San Diego. It's good to have a fresh report that the Comfort Inn still participates in Priceline. Please use this PRICELINE link for your future bids.Enjoy your stay.
