Governator Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 I'd been working on this for a month or two, finally saw a big price drop on Hotwire to $123 for a St John Resort (which I know is the Westin), so I went for it on Priceline. Got it first bid. This is a great rate, but I always end up wondering - should I have started lower??? Anyway, I love this place, looking forward to fun in the sun. :)
thereuare Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 Thanks for the report! Is this the hotel right on the water and you pass right by it when taking the ferry from St. Thomas to Downtown? I seem to recall seeing a resort as we made that trip but i can't seem to remember if it was the Westin or not.Either way, enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Governator Posted July 27, 2004 Author Report Posted July 27, 2004 I think you may be thinking of the Gallows Point Resort, it is just outside Cruz Bay on the right side as you head into the harbor. The Westin is a bit further down on the right, in Great Cruz Bay. Both are actually very nice, but Gallows is always too expensive.
luzer Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 is september a bad time to visit Virgin Islands?
giadav Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 (luzer) September is considered peak hurricaine season.
luzer Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 there must be some resort local that doesnt have rain in sept!!
giadav Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 Lots of people travel to the carribbean in Sept and have great weather. It is a chance you take. Hurricaine Season is officially June 30th to November 30th and Sept and Oct tend to be the most active.
giadav Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 I just had another thought....try Aruba. I think that is a pretty safe choice, they get very little rain.
