Hello. I am new to Hotwire/Priceline/this forum. I would like to stay at the Paradise Point in San Diego/Mission Bay area 7/3/08-7/6/08. How can I best increase my odds to accomplish this? Any suggestions would be helpful. The hotel website lists the average nightly rate as $350, including all taxes.

Welcome to BetterBidding, yomamma.

At last report the Paradise Point was a 4* in Hotwire's Sea World/Mission Bay/Shelter Island zone.

For your dates (July 4th weekend) HOTWIRE has a 4* in that zone for $266 but the icons are a match for the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, not the Paradise Point.

Hotwire will only display one hotel at a time within any quality level and zone, and that will be the least expensive hotel available. So Paradise won't show up as a 4* option as long as the Hyatt Regency has given HOTWIRE a lower rate.

You might try different sets of dates, like just 7/3-7/5 or 7/4-7/6 to see if a different hotel appears on Hotwire. Sometimes that happens. Or check HOTWIRE again in the morning because the offerings are always changing.

Hi,

We are a family of 4,2 adults and 2 kids, hoping to get lucky and find a good deal at Paradise Point as well. Any other tips and/hints to help us when looking on HOTWIRE, to make sure we can figure out if it is PP or not?

Thanks! This site is amazing!

Karen :)
