Letty Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 I don't know the start price for 5* hotels at London, and the best bidding strategy.
thereuare Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Which zones are you willing to bid? What is your maximum bid for a 5* property? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Letty Posted October 26, 2007 Author Report Posted October 26, 2007 Zones 1 or 2. I don't really know about how much to spent... How much do you think I should try?
WillTravel Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Which Priceline zones, though? However, I just checked, and the only London zone on Priceline that has 5* options is Mayfair-Soho.I'd take a look at HOTWIRE and see if they have any 4.5* options, as well.
Letty Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 There are few 4* hotels at HOTWIRE and they seen to be more expensive then the ones at priceline. I think I'm going to try 4* hotels too....There are people winning 4* for something like U$120.00. Which zones are the best to stay?
Letty Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 I'm sorry to bother :) ....but It's missing just 3 weeks for my trip... Help!!!
WillTravel Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I think that if you want to stay at or under $120 USD, you might have to do one or all of several things, and even so there's no guarantee:1) Split your stay2) Choose a less-central zone3) Go to 3* for at least some of your daysBut with all the zones that London has, you will have plenty of bidding opportunities before your trip, and you might as well start with bidding for all your days at a 4* level.I think you should look at the Priceline map and decide which zones are totally unacceptable, and then post back with the zones you are willing to accept.
Letty Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 I can go over U$ 120.00 if its to low for 4* in London. All the areas seens to be ok instead of Finsbury, Hammersmith, The city and London docklands.
blindman Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Have a look at the new Wiki Page for LondonThe first link for London Toolkit opens a web-site that can answer your questions as to where to stay. You could match them up with either HOTWIRE or priceline maps.Depending on your plans and mobility most zones are acceptable with 'Tube' access, with possibly the exception of Docklands.
Letty Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 Thanks for the London link. It was very helpful. I'm going to try the central zone first, the ones I said before.
