doublehelix Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Got this 3* hotel on my first bid for $50 per night. Seems like a crazy-low price, since their website shows lowest price at $289 per night! I hope it's not a horrible disappointment. I've never won a room on my first bid - makes me wonder if I could have started even lower.[Note: Priceline no longer shows any 4* hotels in the Lower Fairfield County area -- you might want to update your hotel list]Stamford Marriott Hotel And Spa Greenwich - Stamford243 Tresser Blvd Stamford, Connecticut 06901 203-357-9555 Check-In Date:Thu, Sep 27, 2007 / After 03:00 PMCheck-Out Date:Fri, Sep 28, 2007 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.69 Total Charges*: $63.69
dahammer Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 this is an older property, but it has a good sports bar and is steps from the Metro North train station and a quick trip into Manhattan.

doublehelix Posted September 29, 2007 Author Report Posted September 29, 2007 If you're worried about getting this property for $50, imagine how those paying $289 must feel :)I hadn't thought of it that way! Good point! My parents said it was a beautiful room. At the advice of TripAdvisor reviews, they specifically requested one of the renovated rooms. Got one on the 5th floor and they LOVED the bed and the shiny-glass-and-stone-modern bathroom and just about everything else. They said the sports bar food was reasonably priced for really tasty, interesting, and creative food. The only sour spot was the pickle on Mom's burger -- not a joke, even though it would be a funny pun -- but when Mom got sick that evening we compared food and traced it back to the funny-tasting pickle. It must have been spoiled. So -- thanks for this great resource. Again.Cheers,~JenPS -- I would have posted this "review" on the proper review board, but since it's secondhand information I wouldn't feel right about it.
