biddingIsFun Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Hi again :) Bid for a 2-night stay in London for a friend, and got immediately accepted at the Copthorne Tara (Kensington-Earl's Court-Knightsbridge zone) when bidding $80. OK, I might have saved a few bucks, but she and her friend got pretty nervous about the accommodation and wanted to get settled. Dates are 10/5 thru 10/7. Used Savingsbarn link to access PL.However, does anyone know if a credit card is ABSOLUTELY necessary for checking in to a hotel ? I wonder because neither my friend, nor her friend has a credit card to present upon check-in. Would hotels in Europe also accept a cash deposit or some other kind of deposit ?Thanks for your help.Kind regards,Dennis
WillTravel Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 You'd have to contact the hotel, but most want a credit card deposit. Perhaps you could arrange with the hotel in advance to get this security, or you could tell your friends to hurry up and get a card.
