JulieAmber
During our Seattle layover (roughly 8pm Pacific Time), we called to inform the hotel that we'd be arriving late. When we arrived in Anchorage at Extended Stay Deluxe after midnight, they gave away our room! We won a ridiculously low priceline bid (can't recall details, or I'd post) for June 11-15, 2007. My husband literally spent a half hour arguing with the night clerk, who said "sorry." Finally, remembering a tip from this forum, he mentioned their "extra room." The clerk hesitated, but gave it to us. The room (or suite) was the NICEST Extended Stay at which we've ever stayed! Once we were enjoying the midnight sun from our hotel room window, things were great. So, beware of them giving your room away... I highly recommend a nearby sports bar called Peanut Farm or something like that. The reindeer sausage is outstanding!!! :) Link to comment
COJOMAY
Funny you should mention the "Peanut Farm" as that's where the Palin family was watching VP nominee Sara Palin's address to the nation the other night. CNN was talking to family members there. Link to comment
hohogap
Stayed here in late January with a $33 Priceline bid. Not horrible for this type of hotel, but there were only TEN parking spaces out back. Don't come back late (or you bettter get up early to plug the meters). Once I parked, I walked, even though this hotel is on the outskirts of the downtown area. Link to comment
