Hotwire Hotel: $1,000 for NYC 3* property 12/05 and 12/06

Not only does Hotwire have availability in only one zone this weekend for Friday or Saturday night (Midtown South), they are offering the fabulous "only in NY" price of $1,000 per night. If I was a gambler I'd be inclined to book the room and then do the "double the difference" rate guarantee. Can there possibly be a 3* property in Manhattan that actually gets even remotely close to that amount PER NIGHT.... even at the busiest time of year?

I have seen this a few times and immediately thought, "Free Hotel After Double the Difference". The two times i pursued it i believed i figured out the hotel and in doing a search for better rates everyone had the hotel as sold-out.

Can't claim a refund if you you can't find a rate quote anywhere :) . I'd guess the hotel in question is completely sold-out, but if they get somebdy willing to pay $1000/nite, they're deal with the hassle of 'walking' somebody else.

Now there's a 4* Boutique offered in Midtown South on Friday night only - for the relatively cheap sum of $450.

I noticed this also! The city is almost completely sold out this weekend. Your best bet is to do last min reservations. For example I see a 4 star for $180 now, it was $1010 per night same property 2 weeks ago. Enjoy
