GM Mike
Welcome --What are the rack (regular) rates at the 4* and 3* hotels in Rochester for your night? How do they compare to rates for other nights, such as the 8/4 you quoted. Have you tried hotwire? Is there anything going on in Rochester that night? What is your actual maximum bid? What is your fully refundable/cancellable backup reservation? Can you only consider the downtown zone? Link to comment

powerplantop
6/17 and 7/2 were weekend dates. 7/18 is a weekday stay. For your dates most 3* hotels are sold out. The Crowne Plaza has rates starting at $155. HOTWIRE has a 3* for $88. If this is also a Priceline 3* (it may not be) I would guess that you will need to bid around $80 to get it. Link to comment
krinconn
Thanks. I have to consider whether it's worth $80... I suppose my alternative is a microtel for $46 in Victor... sounds a bit depressing. Link to comment
krinconn
So in the end, I bid $50 at Priceline for a 2* in downtown Rochester, for Monday night 7/16, and I succeeded. The hotel is the Clarion Riverside (had to be, since it's the only priceline 2* in downtown Roch). The rack rate seems to be $143 for that room.I started my bidding from savingsbarn.com.Thanks.
