Priceline Hotel: 2* Cocoa Beach-Merritt Island (Titusville) Best Western

July 15 - 18th; 3* Cocoa Beachfront hotel; we will probably go up to $100 but this should not be necessary should it? We have tried $70 then added a zone with $75 and failed. Any help at all on getting this vacation booked would be appreciated! Thanks - Bill

I don't know the area at all, but I see two possible problems:

1) You are starting with a Saturday night check-in.

2) It's quite likely rates will be high for a weekend stay in a beach area anyway.

What are Hotwire rates for your dates? How high are conventional rates? Are there any other areas you'd consider?

Are you 'ok' with the fact that you're not guaranteed a beachfront hotel thru Priceline? (as dahammer points out above)

If you're fine with this let us know and we'll advise on how to proceed.

PS- rates are high for these dates

You have two re-bid zones available when bidding 3* in this area. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 3* Cocoa Beach...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 3* Cocoa Beach and re-bid zone2...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $95.

Changed to Sun - Tues from Sat - Tues. We lost at $80, $85, $90 and $95. Finally went down to 2 stars and a $50 bid and was accepted first time by the Best Western Space Shuttle Inn - Titusville which is ok for us since we are doing the NASA tour Monday. I checked at their website and the best rate direct was $69. Probably not much savings but we are rookies at this. Question - we have 3 children ages 7, 6 and 4. I have noticed everywhere that 2 children seem to be the limit. How does this work and are we going to have to hide our # 3! Are their certain hotels that will allow 3 children - thanks, Bill

We also have 2 more destinations and need hotels in Florida. Those locations are Key Largo (should we stay in S. Miami instead?) and Ft. Lauderdale. Should I start new topics or continue with this thread? Thanks - Bill
