Took me a while to find a deal in Budapest. Started at $65 for 5* and $60 for 4* and bid in increments of $5 to $105 for 5* and $95 for 4* without success.

Started on 3* at $50, then $58, then $65 and got it....

I was hoping for a 4-5* as others have gotten for the $80 range, but looks like it wasn't going to happen. Apparently, other people have had the same problem in Budapest too. Must be an availability thing.

Never heard of Mercure hotels before....hope it is ok.

Mercure should be fine. It's one brand of the large Accor company, which is a great choice for much of Europe.

I think you're the first person who has ever reported successful use of "Add a Night" in Europe. For your first set of dates, the hotel is available for 68 Euros per night (including tax) as a hot Rate from the web site. So with conversion, taxes, and fees, the results are almost exactly the same with Priceline as the web site.
