tris210
I am planning to stay at Jersey city or Meadowlands area while visiting NYC this May. Trying to get a hotel with convienient public transport to NYC. Would like to get a 2.5* or 3* hotel. Willing to pay up to $70. Tried both locations on priceline but was rejected. Any suggestions? dahammer
can you provide more details about your bidding history? What was your highest bid that was rejected? What was the star level? What zones did you bid? Link to comment
tris210
I am relatively new to this page. Just found out about this not too long ago. I tried Jersey city 3* at $65 rejected, added secaucus-North Bergen for the same price rejected. I tried $60 and drop to 2.5* for both locations still rejected. Link to comment
blkjck1
I wouldn't get too optimistic booking now for your desired prices in Jersey City. I myself am having trouble in Jersey City for the May 15-18 timeframe (or one week later for the same days of the week). I tried bidding $150 a night for a 3* for those days without luck. Proud to be Canadian! Link to comment
tris210
I rebid again after the 24 hours through the savingsbarn.com link and tried $70 for secaucus-north bergen location, was told to up my bid by $22. I closed the window and open again through savingbarn.com and tried $75. I was accepted for 08/05-11/05 for 3 nights at the Crowne Plaza Meadowlands. Now I have to worry about getting to the hotel from Newark Airport which I will be landing. Anyone has any idea how to get to the hotel via public transport from Newark Airport? Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Thank you for using the SavingsBarn.com links to begin your bid.To get to this hotel you basically have two options (i'm assuming you're traveling alone):1) Get to NYC Port Authority (best method is probably bus/shuttle for ~$15/pp... then NJ Transit bus to the hotel)2) NJ Transit train to Secaucus transfer station and then take a taxi to the hotel (i don't think there are busses from Secaucus train to hotel, but you can try calling the hotel to ask, or if they happen to have a shuttle that will pick you up from the train)Enjoy your stay.
