lighthouse boy Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 My cousin & his soon-to-be-enrolled-in St John's son are flying to visit the campus. Today was my third attempted. I only bidded the JFK area because they are flying Jet Blue into NYC.I started all bidding at $75/3* and was rejected and add 2.5* but at $60 and rejected. So, I opted for hotwire (see that post).first time I didn't get a hotel on priceline! :)
lighthouse boy Posted March 11, 2006 Author Report Posted March 11, 2006 See my misadventures with priceline on that thread. I got the Doubletree at $82/nite on Hotwire.ALERT: New hotel to list! :)
thereuare Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Can you add the amenities shown before your purchase so that we can properly add it to the list. You can still view this information by going to Hotwire and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
lighthouse boy Posted March 11, 2006 Author Report Posted March 11, 2006 Btw, it's called "Jamaica Club Hotel" but it is a Doubletree hotel. This Hotel features the following amenities: Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, Business Center
dahammer Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 this property was formerly the Doubletree, but when I drove by a few weeks ago, a banner announced that it is converting to a Fairfield Inn
thereuare Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 ... it also doesn't appear on the Doubletree website. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
7continentKaren Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I just talked to Hilton and they acknowledged that it was no longer a Doubletree. I just tried Hotwire for Mar 28 and they want $95 for a 3* that night. Fairfield would be nice so I could use an award!
dahammer Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 the changeover to the Fairfield Inn should happen by early May. This property had a restaurant when it was a Doubletree, a nice feature for an airport hotel of this star rating and considering that nearby dining options are few. I wonder if this space will be conveted to the Breakfast area? For what its worth, there is a new Fairfield Inn near LaGuardia in College Point. Category 2 only 10,000 points. :) Fairfield would be nice so I could use an award!there is a Courtyard near JFK, but this is a category 4 which is 20,000 points :)
lighthouse boy Posted April 11, 2006 Author Report Posted April 11, 2006 hotwire sent me a $50 credit to my hotwire account for the downgraded to $50. High school graduation is next month and my aunt & uncle are looking for a cheap room in Austin (TX). I will keep y'all advised.
