  1. A 4* Waikoloa hotel has popped up with the description of "near the beach" which does not describe Hapuna Prince or Marriott. Right now, for March, it is high - $191, just a few bucks off the senior or AAA rate of $208. PLUS Hilton has a $25 resort fee AND a $25 parking fee.
  2. Well! This was a surprise. I was expecting the Algonquin as all the goodies lined up the same. I am happy with this hotel, however. I am betting that HOTWIRE had the same one but for about $7 more (fees made the difference). So, you can add this to your line up. I bought it on PRICELINE EXPRESS.
  3. I plan to use your link. Any idea what hotel we are talking abou here? It now says $131 normally. Wow, astounding for a hotel with such a low customer satisfaction level.
  4. I am having a problem getting an id for this hotel. Says that 55% of people like it (not so great, eh?). free parking free breakfast free internet airport shuttle pool(s) business center laundry facilities(self serve) high speed internet access wheelchair accessibility accessible bathroom handicapped parking $53 per night, selling elsewhere for $124 (which should let out La Quinta whose top is $90) Thanks.
  5. Hotwire now lists fitness center to the list of amenities for MIA La Quinta Airport West and, I am pretty sure, put it back to 3* so I thought I would be getting Hyatt Place except that Hyatt Place was full.
  6. Senior rate $303 so satisfied with result. This time I started at $110 Wailea, added Ka'anapali at $120, then Kihei at $140. Bingo. Between these stays we have two free nights (from a promo last year with Hilton) at Waldorf Astoria Wailea Hotel. So excited to get these great hotels. Plan on breakfast at Hyatt's Swan Court!
  7. Started at $110 and skipped $20, beginning with Wailea, then Ka'anapali, then Kihei. Am happy with result as the senior rate is $323 that night.
  8. I got it. Pardon me, I should have looked more carefully. Hilton downtown on St Charles, most likely. I can get it for $68 on Hotwire or $85 with Hilton on my Visa card and have free breakfast as a Gold member, credit for the stay and so forth. Ghastly parking rate of $32. McDonald's nearby. Big dilemma is that they want $25 for a rollaway and if I get the room through Hotwire telling them I have 3 people, I guess they will make a case that I need two beds when I want a king and rollaway at no extra charge. I can't sleep sharing a double bed. Thanks for your patience....You can delete the whole thing if you like.
  9. I thought of that AFTER I left the house this evening. My bad. Yes, New Orleans.
  10. That's it. No restaurant, no fitness....I haven't seen anyone else with this one. Looking for 2/10 to 2/12 for 2 adults and 1 child. $68. Good deal, but what hotel? Thank you in advance.
  11. There is, at this time, only one hotel in the Rome (south) area participating in Hotwire. The hotel shows as having a shuttle (in this case to the airport and to town but with a small fee - 3 euros to town and 3 euros back, 5 euros to the airport), fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center. On line, I could have booked with Sheraton for $157 which would have included breakfast. Hopefully, their breakfast is not that expensive or we would have been better off paying and getting Starwood points. The Sheraton Golf Parco, just down the street, was even less but no breakfast and queen beds, not king, like Roma. But their shuttle is free. You can see I gave a lot of thought on this one as the advantages were not as great as usual. Priceline surprised me with a 3 star and a 4 star choice. I was not expecting that and I was not willing to be the goat on the 3*, esp since Priceline gives you no clues. I think the 4* had to be Sheraton Roma so that was what I bid on.
  12. I tried PRICELINE first but did not want to wait around for a second bid as there was no way to get another in tonight. I bid $75 and they countered with $99 so I figured they were about the same as HOTWIRE. Just went ahead with HOTWIRE. Flying out in a few days. One less thing to think about. Unless I screwed it up, I went to Hotwire from here so you would get credit.
  13. Maida Vale is an interesting Muslim neighborhood. If you want dry cleaning, go across the street which is where Marriott sends your things for SO MUCH MORE. Rooms are only fair but if yours faces back, it will be quiet. We had a very good dinner at the mosque across the side street from the hotel. The only breakfast we could find outside the hotel was at McDonald's about two blocks away! Have fun!
  14. I was disappointed in the total but it was better at $161 than I could get anywhere else. May must be a hot month in Pittsburgh. Lowest price with the rest was $187.
  15. Oops, sorry. I got the Hyatt Regency. Not a great favorite as the beach is across the boulevard and the pool is the size of a backyard pool and, as I recall, on about the 5th floor roof facing the boulevard.
