Bid through savingsbarn for an ex-girlfriend ... so, I didn't try and penny pinch...LOL

Of course, the bid got upgraded to a 3* and this hotel is two minutes from where she needs to be....!!!! We're still good friends but that's another story .... wait, till she finds out I am getting married on May 22nd!!! I told her I would NEVER commit. (oddly, I just bid today too for my new girlfriend for Rome)

OK .... first tried $24 and got a counter-offer to add $6.

This hotel has improved themselves to complete with the new hotels which have popped up around them ... Courtyard and Rez Inn...!!! They now offer free high-speed internet wired and wireless and a free shuttle bus to the airport. This is HUGE as it is a great deal to stay/park and shuttle away ... if they let you keep your car there.

Thanks WillTravel... we negotiated on the date .... I was thinking 2009 and she wanted Saturday, May 22, 2004 and you can see who pretty much won (that is a holiday weekend in both countries). This girl has totally swept me off my feet .... and I am sure she can say the same, I covered the entire floor of her room at the Jersey City Hyatt in rose petals .... (they are actually free at your local flower store .... I never knew, all it cost me was 3.75 for one rose plus, a $10 tip).

The following morning I had two options .... $30 worth of room service for 1, or myself hand-delivering Mr. Bubbles watermelon bubble bath ($1.95) with pastries, cookies, fresh squeezed OJ and free "have as many as you like" strawberries from the kind bartender who graciously gave me a huge plate and utensils. The second and much cheaper option was a hit...!!! The financial center next to the Hyatt has some really great stores!!!

The third day's surprise .... my car stolen :)

Thereuare ... now, I wish I could bid on a banquet hall like you joked about before. I worked at a small university in Toronto which is a hotspot for outdoor weddings in their rose garden. I am hoping to swing a great deal. Plus, an extremely close friend is the director of food and beverage there so it might be a go.

I told her I would NEVER commit

I remember uttering those words many times :)

Congratulations on the upcoming nuptuals. Planning a wedding will most likely contain some diffucult times, but don't lose site of the true meaning of the day. Also, no matter how much planning you do, something will inevitably go wrong on your wedding day, so always keep in mind that no one component will make or break the day.

Hey, isn't there a big convention in town that weekend in May '04 and Priceline inventory is anticipated to be tight? :)

Aha, sqeeugee, so she IS the one!

But what is all this nonsense about a May wedding in Toronto? Aren't they still building snowmen in May and shoveling their cars out of the drifts each morning? Be civilized and come out to the West Coast where you can see the FLOWERS in May!!!!

(Just think, a whole honeymoon trip to plan....! Where will you go?)

Vancouver is a dream wedding spot ... it is so much cheaper. All the big hotels ... Hilton Metrotown, Westin etc are less than $50/person. In Toronto, all you get is a converted industrial space with odd looking pillars out front. Good thing the great outdoors is free .... might have to push it to June to get the sunshine. If we can just get Bush to create some kind of June public holiday in the US....???????

So, a cheapish groom walks into the Tuxedo store ....

Black - $9999999

Baby blue with frills - $29
