sojourn Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 I must have missed the memo, but it now appears that Priceline only requires a 24 hours wait after the initial bid. Is this topic discussed on the board?
fshwilli Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Yes I too was wondering about this as I have been bidding the last 2 days and each time it says try again in 24 hours, which I have done. Thats such an impreovement than having to wait 72 hours!
thenewbie Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 You are correct, it has changed:If your Name Your Own Price
ufjoe21 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 wow!!!we definitely need an announcement for this!!!!
kayess Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Wow, is it the same for priceline.co.uk I wonder? Very good news if so.
BBtrips Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Can anyone find out if the terms for the wait have changed for car rentals??It used to be 7 days, when hotels were at 72 hours...I haven't been able to find either in PL's T&C....Thanks!!
powerplantop Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 That is great news! Can't wait to get back to the states so I can try it out.
MJRBIM Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I too think the new 24 HOUR lock-out is great. It will make my life so much easier....I would suggest that there are two possible reasons for the change...1.) A lot of DECLINED bids for rooms within 3-days of booking. People trying to use PL for last-minute bookings and failing. PL then forces that business (and those fees) to another vendor.2.) Trying to make themselves more competetive with HotWire and some of the other Vendors from an "ease of use" POV. If you can get a Hotwire room right now for $15 over your Declined PL bid, are you more likely to wait 72 hours to try again on PL - or spend the extra $15...?
