byeloe Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 Priceline now allows proper Canadian billing addresses for Hotels and Rental car bidding. Their terms and conditions also reflect this.
dc3 Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 I discovered that a couple of days ago and posted it at TOBB (as Virageadroit). I went through a bid as far as the credit card entry thing. Did you try a Visa card?
byeloe Posted March 3, 2006 Author Report Posted March 3, 2006 HiYes I saw your post over there and thought that I would update this board as well. A friend used a CIBC visa today with success.
dc3 Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 Thanks - this will be good news for the real people on the local scene. Some folks thought they were in on some kind of swindle with that loophole thing - though I liked it because it was sort of a secret workaround - made me look to be in the know.
WillTravel Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I wasn't able to add a credit card with a Canadian address to my profile. Someone on Flyertalk suggested this workaround and it works. I tried it with a new email address - I don't know how it would work with an existing one.Go through your standard bidding procedure, but don't sign into a profile.Enter the credit card information with the Canadian address. You'll be prompted to create a profile. Do so.Proceed with bid. (I purposely did this with a bid that I thought would not work, because I was only trying to create a profile.)
dc3 Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 You can now use a Canadian address for a saved credit card profile. You just have to be careful when entering your postal code that the format is LETTERNUMBERLETTERSPACENUMBERLETTERNUMBER Any other way and it gives an error. I have confirmed this several times in practice.
free4ever8 Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 On priceline.com when completing info on cc , priceline requires US mailing address for non US customers . Is this a loophole for priceline ?Has anyone come across this? When I tried to email Priceline under CONTACT US , the rule I stated is clearly stated there...????
thereuare Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Loophole? Huh?As this thread discusses accepting Canadian addresses is a fairly new event for Priceline and some of their documentation may not be converted yet to their new policy. Some have reported a problem creating a profile with a Canadian address, but no problems with submitting bids without using a profile. If you have a problem just following the techniques discussed here: PRICELINE FOR NON-US Customers Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
