Chris26WI
I just had a look at the hotwire offers for Frankfurt (April 8-9th) and was surprises about the quite huge selection (first time I look on hotwire for Europe)... There's a 5star in "Frankfurt" for 97$++ - but not a lot of information (Restaurant, Pool, Tennis nearby, Laundry, Fitness Center, Golf nearby).. and can't figure out which hotel that might be.. according to american stars standards, Expedia.com doesn't list any 5 stars for Frankfurt.. maximum is 4.5 stars... There's an airport or Frankfurt-south 4.5 star hotel for only 77$++ - which is very probably the Steigenberger Airport (4star in Expedia, but exactly the same retail rate as shown in Hotwire) - but appears only for 1 guest, not for 2, strange. There are also several 4 stars for Frankfurt... and another 4.5 stars in Frankfurt (which is probably the Steigenberger Frankfurt Hof, same retail rate)). Marriott and Starwood don't show up in this participating chain list.. are these chain examples only examples or usually it's these hotel chains which appear in Hotwire which are shown in their explanations (examples for star categories) - I never booked via hotwire before.. Thanks for any help.. Link to comment
WillTravel
Did you check http://www.hrs.de ? They have 5* hotels in Frankfurt. Link to comment
anyway
There's also a new Radisson SAS in Frankfurt which is probably 5*. Link to comment
anyway
Actually Hotwire has added quite a bit of European location, it was only Rome, Florence, London and Amsterdam last summer if I remember correctly. Quite a lot of cities now. Link to comment
Chris26WI
There's also a new Radisson SAS in Frankfurt which is probably 5*. Yepp, I checked it... and I know it and its location. And according to Expedia, it's a 3.5 stars only. Link to comment
Chris26WI
Did you check http://www.hrs.de ? They have 5* hotels in Frankfurt. Yes, I did, but it's not really helpful, as HRS is listing the hotels according to German stars classifaction, so there are a lot of 5stars.. the Marriott, the Interconti, the Hilton etc. - all are 5 stars.. But I think the 5 star will be the "Hessischer Hof" - which appeared in Priceline as 5 star already as well. It's a Leading Hotel. - ah no no, probably not because I think it doesn't have a pool... mysterious! Link to comment
thereuare
The chains listed are only examples... also note the comment below the grid (assuming you're looking at the same page i'm refering to) which states that the some hotel chains can fall into many different star ratings based upon the individual property. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Chris26WI
Yepp, I saw this note...well, we'll see, maybe I just give it a try.. as soon as my dates are fixed Link to comment
Chris26WI
Seems I figured out at least the 4-star in Frankfurt North/East, which appears for almost every date, several times marked as "best value"; seems to be the Relexa Hotel. Link to comment
