Wanted to post my losing bids to help others. Very surprised by Priceline's lack of rooms for Columbus day weekend. The vacation package has airfare from newark with 3 nights at the Royal Palm for $270.00 per person (2 people) ($540.00 per couple) INCLUDING taxes & fees. I bid up to $125.00 a night (taxes & fees equal $437.38) & get nothing. Is airfare only worth $50.00 per person in the vacation package? Howire has the Palm for $170.00 a night but taxes & fees are $120 for a 3 night stay. I do have a back up hotel so not all is lost. Any advise would be welcome.

What about this 4* beachfront for $101 a night?? anyone know what this is? I am actually considering for myself....but on the other hand.. could this actually be the Holiday inn south beach..listed as a 4*?? that would be my only concern.

This is the Holiday Inn South Beach. "On Request" so probably not available anyway. BTW: The vacation package price for the Royal Palm with airfare from Newark or NYC is now $250 a person. I did hear that the Royal Palm is currently doing renovations so not sure it would be a good place to stay. At this price, I can't see how anyone could complain.

My 3 days were up & I just tried again. Got a "win" for the South Beach Marriott at $120.00 a night. Bid $175.00 for a Resort -REJECTED. Bid $110.00 for a 4 star-REJECTED with NO counteroffer. Bid $120.00 & got the Marriott. Just cancelled my back up hotel. Very Happy with the Marriott.
