frugalnotcheap Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Budget up to $140 for a 4* or 5* on the strip from Nov 6-9. Any help is greatly appreciated. Should this be a hotwire attempt?
thereuare Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 I don't think $140 will be a enough for a 5* if rates at the Venetian are $299/nite.On the otherhand, you won't need to go that high for a 4*.How about the Monte Carlo for $99/nite? frugalnotcheap Posted September 23, 2005 Author Report Posted September 23, 2005 Actually, the Monte Carlo rate sounds good, but I am no huge hurry. Should I hold out and try priceline or is hotwire a better option? The main gist is that I am attending a meeting for my dates and Cesears is offering $189/night and I like my company so I want to save them some money, if possible. So my main goal is to be somewhat near the Palace in someplace nice where I can walk or justify a cab for the money I'm saving. (Also, it looks like I should have posted in the priceline section, not the tips, can you move my posting?). Thanks for any assistance.
dahammer Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 The rate at the Monte Carlo is cancellable, check the EasyClickTravel travel website for their cancellation policy. This will let you bid on priceline if prices start coming down. Also, check out a map of the Strip, Ceasars is walkable from the Monte Carlo.
thereuare Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 The Monte Carlo would be cancellable up until 72 hours before your check-in date. The advantage of booking the above now is that you lock-in something which you can cancel if something better comes along... if you wait, the above rate may no longer be available (as Easy Click's business model pre-purchases a limited number of rooms at most of the properties they sell). frugalnotcheap Posted September 24, 2005 Author Report Posted September 24, 2005 OK, I reserved the Monte for $99 a night. Great deal (through EasyClickTravel). What should I look for, or try to do, for priceline or hotline moving forward knowing that I am going to be spending most of my time at Caesar's and can actually afford more than $99...
TravelGuy Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 You can get the Aladdin for $59 using this link, which is available to anyone, and not a limited promo. MGM also has a $69 promo with a $35 dining credit available only to players club members. Technically you're supposed to receive an e-mail, however there are many people over at lasvegastalk.com who didn't receive the e-mail and booked it anyway without experiencing any problems whatsoever at check-in. I booked it after joining the players club and getting the e-mail a couple of weeks later.
thereuare Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Those are pretty good rates! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
frugalnotcheap Posted October 13, 2005 Author Report Posted October 13, 2005 Took the good monte rate...cancelled it...and took the even better MGM rate. Thanks for the advice.
