anyway Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I have to stay 18 Oct - 21 Oct in Frankfurt. Unfortunately, Book Messe is taking place there at the exactly same dates. Most hotels show no availability or have rates in the EUR 300-600 range.I have bid up to $75 in all zones for 2* with no results. What would you do in such a situation? Is there a possibility that hotels are just holding inventory and could release it in the last minute? Thanks,----aw
WillTravel Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 With rates that high, I wouldn't count on a last-minute breakthrough.I'd suggest that you take a look at http://www.hrs.de .See what's available and book a backup. Also look at http://www.accorhotels.com (actually use the link on thereuare's support page) . Maybe there's a suburban Etap or something that would work for you.
Chris26WI Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 You could also check for nearby cities like Wiesbaden and Mainz which are connected via public transport to Frankfurt - but they usually profit from the trade fairs in Frankfurt as well.
anyway Posted September 19, 2005 Author Report Posted September 19, 2005 Thanks, Chris26WI and WillTravel! I've booked a backup in Wiesbaden.
Chris26WI Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Which hotel did you book? ( I used to live in Wiesbaden)
anyway Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 Etap on the outskirts of Wiesbaden. We will have a car, so commuting to Frankfurt should be easy (and parking is free at Etap.)I'll try to bid in Frankfurt a couple of times more though.
