thereuare
After nearly 3 years since we began to restructure the back-end in preparation for this project, and many changes from our original vision, we are VERY please to finally announce the return of our PRICELINE MAPS:Start by typing any region, city or zone location into the text box and select from the drop down menu:In about 15-30 seconds (but could take as much as one minute for larger areas) the data will propogate. The first box will list all zones for the region selected, and you can select/unselect which zones you want to view information for:To the right of the zones is an advance filter box where you can further filter by star rating, days of the week, month, and a time period:Below the filters is a breakdown of the hotels reported to the board in each zone, along with the following information: star rating, range of reported winning bids (based upon the filters selected), link to view the wins for a given hotel, and the last time the win was reported to the board (measured by check-in date):To the right is a map of all hotels reported to the board in the designated zones. The markers show the last known star level and are color coordinate by zone (which makes it easy to see how geographically spread out the 'known' hotels in the zone are located). You hover your mouse over any marker to see the hotel name, or click the marker to see more info:Click anywhere in the row (except for the 'View' link) and the map will focus on the property clicked along with a link for more information on the property.Click the 'View' link and see a pop-up window showing all the wins reported to the board. The links within the pop-up window are clickable to take you to the reported win on the board for more information of that individual purchase.ADVANCE FILTERS:You can filter the hotel list (bottom left of the page) by multiple criteria... place check marks only next to criteria you want to see in the hotel list and displayed on the map.For example, by having check marks only next to certain criteria you could limit the results to:Las Vegas Strip North and Strip South4* and 5* hotelswins that include a Friday or Saturday niteJuly or August--> this gives you 4* and higher hotels for weekend nites in the summer months in either the Strip North or Strip South zonesAs you SELECT/UNSELECT each box, the zones, hotels in the zones, markers on the maps, price range, and visits all update automatically (without needing to reload the page ;) )Currently this does not work on iPad, but we have already started the framework for a compatible version, which we will continue assuming the demand is there and after fixing any bugs which may be reported with this version.Enjoy.PS- if you notice any hotels that are not plotted correctly or are listed in the wrong region/zone, please send us a PM so that we can edit accordingly (include "PRICELINE MAPS edit" in the subject line).
