Hotwire Hotel: Advice needed for Napa/Sonoma Valley in May

I have been looking for a room for 4 adults, one night (Monday, May 23rd). There hasn't been much available on Hotwire and I don't want to take a chance with Priceline and end up with just one bed. I checked the Calendar of Wins for this time period last year and there wasn't anything posted for this region. Do you think availability will likely improve over the next couple of weeks, or is this area just in too much demand in May to be able to offer anything to Hotwire?

I did find this one hotel:

3 l/2* Napa area - $137

Icons: no smoking, complimentary breakfast, pool, restaurant, high speed internet

"still gathering reviews"

It seems to fit the description for The River Terrace Inn but they have no availability for my date. And Trip Advisor rates them a 4*. I've never been to Napa before so I'm finding the retail room rates outrageous! Any suggestions appreciated.

At least you're travelling to Napa on a Monday. Weekends are even more expensive.

I'm not so sure the Hotwire 3.5* is the River Terrace. River Terrace is 4.5 on TripAdvisor and this hotel is 4.0. Also you said the River Terrace is sold out.

I think this could be a new set of icons for the Best Western Ivy House. BW is nonsmoking and has complimentary breakfast, so it's a good fit, and it's 4.0 on TripAdvisor. Hilton Garden Inn is another possibility but I lean towards Best Western.

If BWIH appeals to you but you don't want to take a chance on the Hotwire hotel turning out to be something else, you can also reserve two beds at Ivy House at Hotels.com for $152.

Please use the board's HOTWIRE link if you purchase, or let us know if you have other questions.

Thank you Colfax. I made a reservation at the BW Ivy House that can be canceled if something interesting comes available on Hotwire. The "grand re-opening" rate on this newly remodeled BW was only $9 more than the 3 1/2* on Hotwire.

I've been watching Hotwire for a better deal & hotel than the Best Western. So far, no luck. Last Minute Travel has a 4* listed for $118 and using the tips I've read here on another topic, it appears to be the Napa Marriott. I've never used Last Minute Travel before. Do you recommend? I tried the travel link above but it wouldn't connect.

I've used LastMinuteTravel in SF a couple times and had no problems. I don't hear others reporting problems either.

I agree LMT's 4* in Napa for $118 looks like the Marriott. (There's a different 4* offerered too, at a higher rate). The Marriott's unique identifier is "1161" and you should see that number somewhere in the address bar.

Thereuare can confirm but I don't think the LMT link on the Support Page is currently operative. Go ahead and book direct if this looks like the best option for you, and thanks for using the board's support links when it's possible.

Thank you Colfax. I went ahead and reserved and it was the Napa Marriott (with identifier 1161 in the address bar). The best rate on the Marriott site was $186, so I'm very pleased. Free wine & cheese reception in the evening is a nice bonus!

Thereuare - are you going to fix the Last Minute Travel link? If all goes well in Napa, this is a site that I would search for future bookings.
