belgo Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I received the Sheraton Park Lane for 4* in Mayfair/Soho, at the price of $140 + $33.17 = $173.17 for the night of July 30th (post cruise). I'm not exactly thrilled after reading the reviews on tripadvisor.com, but the price on their website for that night was 133 pounds, or about $255, so at least we saved about 40%. :)
belgo Posted April 28, 2005 Author Report Posted April 28, 2005 I forgot to say that I tried and failed at $135, added Southbank as my free rebid. And I did use the savingsbarn link (I had to go to my laptop to do it, too!).
thereuare Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Thanks for sharing your win and for using the links at SavingsBarn.com to begin your purchase.Hopefully your stay will work out well... good thing about a cruise is that it totally recharges your batteries to be able to deal with just about anything! This will be the first year in 5 that my wife and i don't take a cruise :) (the new baby coming didn't allow it since the time 'allowed' to cruise while pregnant was limited) ... next year for certain! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Blueskies Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I stayed there a year or so ago and paid around 150 UK pounds(before I learned about this site) and got a terrible room so that should make you feel better. Our friends had a fabulous room. Might be worth signing up for starwood membership - you never know if that will work. It is a great location and breakfast was pretty good. Lovely irish lady served us.
Chris26WI Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Starwood has a new policy that SPG (status) privileges don't apply anymore to Priceline stays - though in future it might still depend on the individual hotels's behaviour in this concern.
