Priceline in South Africa???

I was thinking of going to South Africa and had a look at Priceline but they don't appear to cover that country. Is there something similar or do we have to revert back to conventional means? Hotwire doesn't seem to do it either. Any idea why not?

Often Priceline HK has some other countries, but they don't have anything in Africa.

From research I have done on South Africa in the past, location is extremely important in order to help ensure safety. So I don't think an opaque booking would be wise, even if it were available.
