sandb Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 I'm trying to book the Radisson by USC for two nights next week, the July 12 -14th. If I hotwire for one night, the 12th only, I get a $75 rate with fitness center, pools, restaurant, business center and high-speed internet. If I try for 12-13th or just 13th, I get $106 rate with smoke-free, restaurant, business center and high-speed internet. I'm confused since neither of these match the radisson exactly based on other posting (Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High Speed Internet, Golf Nearby & Tennis Nearby) and also coming up with two different lists since the radisson is the only hotwire 3* listed for this geography.Any and all advice is appreicate since i really want to be across the street from USC but really don't want to do the 2.5* which seems to be the vagabond inn and that has two reviews that literally say they have bed bugs. I'm not too picky, but bedbugs really won't do.Thanks in advance,Barry
thereuare Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 I get the same hotel whether i search for 7/12-7/14 or 7/13-7/14... the 3* with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessThis is a match for the Wilshire Hotel so that would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. sandb Posted July 11, 2010 Author Report Posted July 11, 2010 Sorry, I wasn't clear. Try 7/12- 7/13 and i think you'll get another property that I'm hoping is the RAdisson. And today, it comes up when you do 7/12 - 7/14... $75
thereuare Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Nope... still getting a 3* hotel with only Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business when searching for just 7/12-7/13 (2adults/0children) OR 7/12-7/14.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sandb Posted July 11, 2010 Author Report Posted July 11, 2010 So without - laundry, golf and tennis nearby - you're pretty certain it's not the radisson? i just don't see any other mention of any other 3* in the midwilshire - usc on the site so i'm curious why you think it's the wilshire hotel?
Colfax Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 The Wilshire Hotel hasn't been reported here before and that's why it's not in the Hotel List. If someone reports getting the Wilshire we'll add it.The 3* on 7/12-7/14 for $75 looks like Wiilshire to me too. If you click CONTINUE under the price the next screen shows the hotel in question has a 3/5 TripAdvisor rating. Wilshire Hotel is 3/5 on TA, and Radisson is 2.5/5, so Wilshire looks like a better match.
Colfax Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Any and all advice is appreicate since i really want to be across the street from USC but really don't want to do the 2.5* which seems to be the vagabond inn and that has two reviews that literally say they have bed bugs. I'm not too picky, but bedbugs really won't do.I only see one bedbug report at Vagabond on TripAdvisor and it has all the signs of being a bogus post. It was posted by someone who registered, posted one time, then never returned.Bedbugs exist and i'm not minimizing them, but in my opinion the great majority of bedbug reports on TripAdvisor are untrue, posted as revenge or payback for something else unrelated. Anyone can post anything on the internet. If a hotel really has bedbugs you'll probably see multiple reports on TripAdvisor and you'll see reports from people with high post counts, and therefore credibility--not just from the "one post wonders".If you're concerned about bedbugs you should check your mattresses and bedding wherever you stay---whether it's Vagabond Inn or Ritz-Carlton.
thereuare Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 If you look at the third post of the Hotwire hotel List you will see the amenities associated with the Wilshire Hotel, which match those above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sandb Posted January 15, 2011 Author Report Posted January 15, 2011 Switched to PRICELINE and got Westin Bonaventure Hotel 4 Star Downtown Los Angeles for $85, total was $105 for one night - July 12th. Was not able to extend stay at same price.
