Blueskies
I was looking at Hotwire for 2 rooms at Heathrow Airport in July - got a price of $119 for a 3.5* with amenities include: Airport Shuttle, Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access and $58 for a Best Value 3* with Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, Business Center, which I suspect in the Sheraton Skyline. Not sure what the other hotel is at the moment - can't be Hilton as it would not need shuttle so that takes it down to just a small number of possibilities. maybe we could get something started or if there is something already set up then please let me know where. I am new to this and am still finding my feet.I know I could probably get the Sheraton Skyline on priceline for a bit less than the hotwire rate. The rate on Expedia is around $200.Thanks Link to comment
WillTravel
I think the Sheraton Skyline would likely have a higher rating than 3*. Link to comment
Blueskies
I was matching it with the amenities, priceline prices posted and the pretty awful reviews that it sometimes gets on Tripadvisor. I suppose it could be the Comfort Inn which gets even worse reviews as it seems to have same amenities. Plenty time to decide. I await further feedback on London in general at Heathrow in particular. WillTravel
Comfort Inn is much more likely. Hotwire's ratings tend to be 1/2 a star or 1 star higher than Priceline's ratings. The reviews don't really mean anything in relation to star rating. Link to comment
Scorp
You might also want to avoid the Sheraton Skyline for a Friday night, due to the Mumbai Night party thing... see here for more details. On the other hand, maybe some folks like a big party at their hotel. :) Link to comment
WillTravel
If you use the trick of setting up a Hotwire vacation package to London, and look at the hotels, you can get some idea. The Crowne Plaza Heathrow is listed as 3* with these amenities: Airport Shuttle Restaurant(s) Pool(s) Fitness Center Golf Nearby Business CenterThis is an exception to the usual rule, because Priceline says this is a 4*, I believe. Blueskies
Do you really think that the CP is the 3* at $58 with no mention of shuttle or Hi-speed internet ? I am not convinced but adding on nights gives such a variety of prices, some even lower!Do you think it is possible that the vacation has a different rating from the hotel? Link to comment
WillTravel
The fact there are fewer amenities and the relatively low price suggests that the opaque 3* hotel is not be the Crowne Plaza. But there's no way to tell and it's certainly a possibility. Sometimes amenities are left off the opaque site. The rating won't differ between the opaque site and the packages. Link to comment
Blueskies
Needed 2 rooms - Was tempted to get one room just to see what Hotwire was offering BUTI decided not to take the chance with Hotwire and won a 4* priceline bid at Link to comment

micheles
stayed here last summer - if you want two rooms near to one another - request it early - we had two rooms and were quite a way down the corridor from our childrenit is a busy hotel but quite comfortable Link to comment
