I looking for a 4* (or 3.5* maybe) in West Hollywood near Sunset Blvd or other area with some night life. Must have a nice pool. I was thinking of Mondrian or Grafton but am open to similar. I was thinking up to $150 but am really just looking for a good deal and suggestions on bidding. Date June 26th to June 30th.

And looking for a 3* or better near Venice Beach for June 30 to July 3rd. Again about $150 with a good location.

Any suggestions on where to start bidding and what is available is appreciated either hotwire or priceline. I will of course link through the forum to bid.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please post only one stay per thread... we'll use this thread for your June 26th to June 30th stay, please start a NEW TOPIC for your subsequent stay.

For your West Hollywood stay:

Must have a nice pool.
When using PRICELINE there is no way to bid on only hotel with a pool (a nice one or otherwise :) )
...in West Hollywood near Sunset Blvd
Similarly, you can't bid on a hotel in a specific location. On PRICELINE the West Hollywood zone is part of the larger Beverly Hils-West Hollywood zone. Are you able to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of this area?

Given the above, HOTWIRE may be a better option. You'll be able to choose a hotel which shows the Pool icon, ensuring that this amenity is offered at the property. As well, based upon the amenities shown before your purchase you can take an educated guess as to the hotel you may receive, thereby having a guess of the location and where in the zone the hotel lies. (and how 'nice' the pool is)

PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but HOTWIRE may increase your chances of getting a hotel which meets your needs/wants for this stay.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

You should forget about bidding on a 4* in West Hollywood if you want something close to the nightlife.

Chances are, you'll get placed in Century City.

Do this: Bid 3* in the Hollywood zone, and you'll likely land the Hollywood Heights hotel. That's where you want to be. Not to mention, you'll save $35 per night or so when you factor in parking.

I wondered how you were going to like the Hollywood Heights, coast2coast21. It sounds like you did. Did they give you two beds like you wanted?

They did give me two beds. The hotel isn't the greatest, but the location IS. I'd prefer to save $50 and get the Hollywood Heights instead of paying the extra $50 or so for the W.
